Based off this year with 2 games in:

South Point (2-0 with impressive win against Hickory)
Stuart Cramer (Did what they were suppose to do with these two Big South teams)
Ashbrook (could very easy be 1 on this list later in the season)
Hunter Huss(not sure yet but always have athletes)
East Gaston (somehow better than last year but reality will start kicking in this week. Very thin roster)
Forestview (average Gaston county football)
Cherryville (overachieving and building something)
Mountain Island (no clue and no care. Not a Gaston county school in my mind)
Bessemer City (no clue other than scores)
North Gaston (NG years of being raided by Big South Schools catching up)
Highland Tech (Amazing they field a team)

You don't think EG can get 6 wins this year?

Triton SC....you do realize that this and about 4-5 other "names" were all created within the same week, right?
Would be great if @admin would run a IP address report and post it. There would be surprises, but even more "yeah we all knew who those guys were." 🤣

I have only been on here a year of so, but some of yall need a rollodex to keep up!

Interesting take.....what stands out to me is:
Forestview ("avg" GACO football team).
I think this is likely the worst FV team in history of the school. Them and EG are pretty bad.....EG just better than them right now.

I definitely think there are 3-4 teams in county that are competitive regionally and then the rest are way below the line.

We both ranked them 5 or 6 out of 11 teams. I'd say we both called them an average Gaston county team this year. Rankings are for this year only.

CC, I'm not poking the bear....

I think the only two teams that have the potential to beat anybody from CC this year is South Point and Cramer. Ashbrook lost an entire defense of seniors and was unable to replace them in the portal. Huss can match most of CC with athletes, but doesn't have the line play.

BC-no
Cherryville-no (although I'm intrigued by this weeks matchup with Lincolnton, not that they'll win but how close it will be)
EG-no
Forestview-what happened to them? but no
HT-sorry, but no
NG-HT should've scheduled them this year

Did I miss anybody?

LOl - "unable to replace them in the portal" is hilarious and true.
SC being able to beat them......maybe Burns?

Only the 1-2 guys with 12 different user names on here would agree. 1a and 1b is funny. SC would get blown out by 21 plus points. Still way less fast, physical and fundamental. It is easy to see.
You can't have TEs playing safety. Make some moves before you play Lincolnton and Shelby and give yourself a chance for god's sake. You have competed with one team that has "good" line play thus far (Hibriten)... but lost that one, too. Gotta learn how to do that stuff. Tape exists.
Homer, I am one of the biggest SP guys around and have been for YEARS but you have on blinders. I've been away for (2) years from seeing every game because my son is coming through SC. But If you think this years SP would beat SC by 21 plus you aren't very football friendly or are just tossing grenades and haven't seen SC play. SP would be hard pressed to score 21 if tonight was any indication. Zero interior run game with a physical front and there is a big difference in the mesh under center.

Ugly game.
SP didnt have the line push they normally do and rarely got to the 2nd level. The pass offense was just through it far and hope. A win is a win and they have time. TC's only offense was busted plays Some of those rankings have them as a top team but I dont see it, seasons early though.

2nd level was meeting them in the gaps. The Roberson front was physical and control the interior.

Based on what? SCs group never having come close to beating them at any level in football? Or something else?
Who has Stuart Cramer ever beaten? Beat a full strength Lincolnton or Burns team before you knock on big daddys door.
TCR ain't North Gaston. SC is as physical as a wet napkin.

:ROFLMAO: You're worried about the past. I'm talking present. You said SP beats SC by 21 plus this year and that's just not the case. The lucky thing for both of us is we can only wish.

The only group that is lucky is SC....because they ran and hid and wouldn't play SP.
I am absolutely talking about the present. Beat somebody, anybody that is relevant. Show toughness. Play a 5a team in non conference that isn't a program historical 25% win team. Until you do any of this.....it is just fantasy and hype over in rainbow warrior land.

TCR isn’t Lincolnton, Burns, or Shelby either. Mt Airy beat Wautaga tonight (so that win last week isn’t that impressive). TCR is an average team. Good win for SP though. They did what was needed to get the win.

Who ran and hid? Name the person/persons who took SP off the schedule.

The Head Football Coach. He has control over who is scheduled. He's been there the last two years. He didn't want any part of SP during those two years. I didn't say he wasn't smart.
He balanced in one hand FV and NG or take one away and add SP? Hmmmmm. It's really that simple. He didn't want any.

Decision was made before he got there, probably by people you are familiar with. Stick to making excuses for loses by blaming the system flawed because of teams recruiting players.

LOL- no no. Decisions and games are broken all the time. You can change/add that stuff real late. Somebody is giving yall a line down one avenue, and having closed door convos on the other side.
My interpretation: HC to fans/supporters: "We will play anybody! Bring em on!!!"
HC to AD: "Don't you dare schedule SP..... I will quit and leave here!!!"

I do hope SC has a good year, though ..... LOL. Funny as that sounds.
I just like that the Gaston County Forum is back and lively. One could argue better than the CC thread.

That isn't an excuse. If you aren't good enough to show up with your people.....then just cheat I guess. Openly accepted in College and HS most places now. SP doesn't have to. Besides the Fullback (who moved into the proper area as you know, and whose mom is a SP grad I understand) you can see all SP went to elem. school, middle school, played at BO for the most part (if not maybe a couple for Cramerton Panthers). There is nothing to hide. Nobody from Boiling Springs or Troutman is on the SP roster ANY year.

You always seem to understand and make excuses when they happen to “move” into SP district. I remember a baseball player from a few years ago coming all the way from Cleveland County and was the hands down best player on that team with his bat and pitching ability, and I was told he just happened to leave a bad situation, nothing to see here. I say congratulations on getting these guys but don’t act like we do things cleaner and better than anyone else because you don’t. I would go into further detail but there is no reason to because the boards are nothing but fat old men’s opinions, including mine.

Yeah that guy moved in (parents) and rented a place. He wasn't wanted or needed. Made the team worse actually. Nobody recruited him. He just ran from a young team that he thought had no chance to win.
Renegade one off type players doing this....ain't the same as systemic recruiting by the fanbase and program overall like we see so many places. Never gonna get true respect doing that because it isn't organic.

I get what you’re saying, but if these kids make the teams worse why do they keep starting, winning individual awards at your sports banquets? Never mind you don’t have to answer that because you have no say in it just like I have no say when you say SC has ran and hid from SP. The last time SP and SC played football two years ago, SP could have won 100-0, no disputing that, but SC started 16 sophmores that year. I am willing to bet that only 1 maybe 2 players on this current SP team played any significant minutes on that team two years ago. My point being is every kid, parent, and current coach affiliated with this years team would have loved to play SP this year and finally get to play against kids that are at least remotely close to their age and body development. Who would win, I don’t know because the game will not be played but I can guarantee it would not have looked like the games from the last 3-4 times they played.

I've got some buddies in for the first day of college football and asked them about this, some coach ball up in Cleveland County, some in Iredell County, and some in Gaston County. It's my one day a year other than the NFL Draft that I do absolutely nothing. Grass can stay knee high for another day. They said most of the time nonconference games are signed contracts that last for two years. If you break the contract you end up having to pay some kind of penalty or fine. I don't know if that's true for every situation, but that's what they said.

I think both programs lost a massive gate by not playing, I went to a couple of those games in past years and it was absolutely PACKED, and Cramer was getting slaugtered. All it's given us is the opportunity to guess and argue who would win. Did South Point want to play? Probably undoubtably. It was a program that they had dominated since it's inception, other than one year. Did Cramer want to play? I'd say at the time if you looked at where the program was, the coaches and players would say they just wanted to win.

Now, if either side could have seen the future and saw the 2025 and 2026 Cramer teams are potentially, by record the greatest teams in school history. Then they'd have been more likely to play. I like South Point. Hodge, Mickey, Mitch, Brian, etc. have all spoken to me when I see them in public and congratulate them on a great game or season. I appreciate the tradition and history that they try to upkeep. But I'm not one of those guys that sees things through red colored lenses. Cramer appears to have turned the corner. They had a great senior class last year, and the same could be said for this bunch. From what I read on here and through the Gazette (man I miss when that thing was worth reading). I see some of their dudes out and about in Belmont from time to time, but I don't know them so I don't speak.

I'm not originally from here, why is there so much animosity between the two programs? or at least fan bases?

It's been a good start for SE Gaston County, Just hope both sides continue, it would sure be nice for lil' ol Gaston County to be represented deep in the playoffs.
