How can Pope be so soft after playing for Pitino? His teams are soft.
dykes is enjoying watching us get beat like this. It’s obvious. All our haters want Pope to keep his job as long as possible
Guys, we are and have made history. Never in anyone’s lifetime has UK been down by double digits more than we have the past two years. It’s not even the other teams we play always playing well. We are just outmatched in every facet of the game. Florida could have blown us out but they are just going through the motions at this point and still winning the second half.
He treats our men like girl scouts.
I’ve been a UK basketball fan since 1978. I was 9 years old and remember well watching with my brothers as Goose poured in 41 points to lead UK to a championship. I was hooked from that day forward. In the 48 years since, there’s been so many terrific monuments and quite a lot of difficult ones. The ‘84 Georgetown loss; Probation; The Laettner shot; The embarrassment of BCG and the Wisconsin loss in ‘15 (that one completely ripped away at my soul).
None of those were at the level of anger, disgust and apathy I now have for UK basketball and Mark Pope. If he truly has ANY love for the university as he professes to, he’ll resign and walk away and give our new AD, whoever that may be, a fresh start. There’s absolutely no possible scenario where he “gets this” figured out and improves as a top level head coach. Please, Mark, just walk away!

I doubt Jasper is here next year. He needs a program where he can shoot all he wants to and doesn’t have to play defense. Not sure where that would be?
Sorry I don't care what Pope did in the 1996 NCAA tournament. I care about what he's doing as coaching in 2026.

Trying to compare Pope to Golden is hilarious. It’s like comparing a trailer to the Empire State Building.

Pope sucks at pushing refs. No one wants to accept that he is a big reason for why we get pushed around. He won’t defend his guys.
