If he were to enter the portal, would UK be interested? Rutgers isn't very good and he doesn't have a wow type of stats in the time he's played.

I doubt he will enter the portal. His mother wanted him to attend Rutgers. As for whether UK would be interested in him if he gets into the portal, that will depend on who the OC is. Conventional wisdom at the time was that Liam Coen was not interested. That doesn't matter now, but it shows that coaches don't necessarily go by star ratings. They want a fit.
Imo we can and will do better in the portal. As another poster mentioned, don't think he was high on the list for pro ocs
What very little I've seen of this guy he just doesn't look to have P5 talent. Good athlete but scatter armed. May be better suited for someplace like UAB or Jon Sumrall's Troy.
Coen was right on this one.
If we get Gavin in the portal as QB1 next year we are in trouble.
Unless we fire Scang and rehire Eddie Gran then the answer is no. We won’t be interested. Destin Wade is a better quarterback anyway.

Medium answer: He's from around my area. Saw him play several times in HS. Didn't seem to me to be an SEC QB, but what do I know.
He did bail on his HS team, after second game of senior year to take the money and run to Rutgers. Mark against him in my book. No foxhole sharing with him.
I've made a point to watch him, recording his games. Lots of struggles, inaccurate passing, good runner. Still don't think he's an SEC level QB
