Not just that one thing. The Alliance is also about voting as a group to block such things as expansion of the CFP, and whatever else the $EC wants to do to try to take over college football. It's all about strength in numbers. The alliance is served only to assure
b10, ACC, & Pac12 will not pouch schools from those 3 conferences, as agreed
Other then that, it's pretty much meaningless.
The alliance is nothing but symbolic. In a year or two you won't hear anything about. The playoffs may expand but it wont resemble what was set up before, and it wont happen until the current deal ends. Likely to be limits on participation from one league. There could also be scheduling components- ie if you just play conference games it hurts your score. Also since just one network wont control rights, rankings wont be controlled by that network as now.
Hopefully once the BIG 12 is reconstituted the alliance will grow.
Naivety at its finest. Your statement is nothing but wishful thinking. The alliance is nothing but symbolic. In a year or two you won't hear anything about.
The alliance is a joke there is no contractual agreement between any of these conferences. The only one being naïve is yourself.Naivety at its finest. Your statement is nothing but wishful thinking.
The playoff is held up and is going to open market, and you can bet there will be changes to who and how many can get in.
There is obviously a scheduling component as well. The SEC can knock itself out of contention rather than land more spots/money as they schemed.
