So they're saying they did not find evidence of CO2 poisoning as of this time... đź‘€.

They found the wife next to an open bottle of pills and pills scattered near her. The dog with them died, but the other two dogs in the bedroom did not.

Bruh, something ain't right. Seems like maybe they took something? Or maybe she slipped Gene something? And I'm thinking the dog near them got into it, but the other two dogs did not because they were stuck in another room. Gene and the wife died in seperate rooms.

Maybe he fell and died and she ODd because she was so sad? And the pills were bacon flavored so the dog munched on some too

My dog would eat almost anything that dropped on the ground, including pills.

My dog pounces on anything I drop within a nano-second..........except pills. He never flenches. I'm like "how do you know???"
I guess they watch you take pills many times and know there's nothing there for them.

Sounds like she OD’ed and maybe he either did with her or she slipped him some. The dog ate the pills off the bed?

No jokes for Gene Hackman. One of our great actors who entertained us for decades with great movies and roles. He was 95 and probably near his end regardless, but it sounds like it was a mysteriously sad and tragic situation.
With no knowledge I could see that those two truly loved each other and he had to be close to the end. Maybe they went out together as peacefully as they could.

Been a little bummed about this one today. Actually watched The Conversation last night and several hours later the news comes out. He was incredibly frail in the last public photo I saw of him so this isn't unexpected, although Kirk Douglas was unrecognizable towards the end but still lived to be 103. Was hoping Hackman would be around a few more years though.

Eastwood might be the last iconic Hollywood great around Hackman's age and somehow is still putting out solid work.

I was just about to bring up The Conversation. He'd kill us if he got the chance. He'd kill US if he got the chance.

Sitting around all day thinking about this and I may have come to the conclusion that he was my favorite actor of all time.

That's not ALL a starving dog will eat, after a certain point. Which explains why the dog had to go.

I'm putting 10 dollars on:

Wife finds him dead, she's inconsolable, OD's on pills, but only AFTER she offs the dog so the dog doesn't eat them (in case it's days and days before the bodies are discovered.)

Possible that they both took pills that were laced. Dog ate one after they died.

No way they leave that dog alive, not knowing how long it might be before the bodies were discovered. Besides, everyone knows that you have to wrap a pill in cheese to get the dog to take it. Mark my words: there will be four or five slices worth of American cheese in that dog's stomach. LOL

My Columbo theory....

He dies. She doesn't report it so as to continue to collect social security and royalties. Somehow it falls apart so she kills herself and her dog with pills.

You don't die from OD when the pills hit your tongue. If there's a spilled bottle of pills next to her, she passed from something else or a comically stupid assassin from the movies planted them there. They'll come back to carbon monoxide. Maybe something with lightning or a short circuit.

CO2 = carbon dioxide, the gas you exhale.
CO = carbon monoxide, the deadly stuff.
Both can be deadly. Recent death from CO2 near Booneville, Indiana in house built in reclaimed coal mine. CO is far more common.

CO2 poisoning occured after heavy rains with a drop in barometric pressure over materials high in Carbon. A woman went into her basement during a tornado warning and never came out. The people in that area with the problem said there would be times when they would try to light a candle and couldn't even light a candle because there wasn't enough oxygen.

How could no one mention his roles as General Mandible or Brill?!
Very few celebrity deaths bother me as I know none personally but when someone that played so many unforgettable parts and such a wide range you can’t help but to develop a kindred spirit towards them. He will be missed,

General Mandible

Brill
