Let’s also credit Montez. His huge stepup in play lately has gotten the attention of opposing defenses, which is also helping Geo. Geo was getting all of the focus of opponents’ defenses for most of the season. Not as much now.
Geo is a star in the conference. The TV announcers couldn’t say enough good things about him. He can do it all. Clearly the opposition must focus on stopping him.

Geo is amazing how he creates space to get open looks. He really took charge to secure this win.

Geo was absolutely terrific.

In terms of leadership, he controls the floor for the team and he steadies the guys. it’s not in his nature to be fiery and in your face type leader. Not meant as criticism. He gives all he’s got.

BTN Basketball and Beyond named Geo "ironman" of the week. First RU player to get their show's award.
I just saw that on the show. I am happy for Geo but I am being a little greedy here. He scored 16 and 20 in the 2 games which is good but it really should be the norm. He should be able to get 8-10 each half. Now that Montez is becoming more of a focal point of the other team’s defense and there has been a concerted effort to pound the ball down low to Carter and Myles , Geo should become more open and have more opportunities. Coach playing Caleb with him will also help his offense and how good his shots will be. We needed him in that stretch in the beginning of the year and conference, Geo was disappearing because he was being asked to do too much. I think his having to do less, with minutes, ball handling, will make him more proficient and will score more with less attempts, because he will let the game come to him from Montes, Caleb , and the bigs dishing out of the double teams.

Sorry, but I disagree. Geo needs to play the point. He has to have the ball in his hands and direct the team. He's the QB. He's also the best ball handler and is clearly the leader. He can still get his points, but it's not only about points. Leadership, passing, experience, basketball IQ, defense, hustle are all things he provides. Caleb is not ready to get major minutes at point and Mathis is not a natural point guard, imo. I think Geo showed what he can do playing point in the PSU game.

That’s awesome. Though I would have given it to Omoruyi if the name of the award actually means something.

I am not saying the ball should ‘t be in Geo’s hands but it should not be exclusively at point guard. He has not distributed to the bigs on the block enough for my liking and his ball handling is not terrific. Having McConell play the point and Geo at the wing makes Geo better . Having Mathis or Harper bring the ball upcourt on a break or a secondary break is good for us. Having the ball in Geo’s hands too much, or where the ball is sticking with unnecessary dribbling and not moving quickly is not good for us. Geo has the capability to consistently score 15-20 a night. Not exhausting him at the point both offensively and defensively, will more likely result in his achieving that level , which we desperately need to have a chance to win every night

Geo, Eugene and the entire team gave an excellent effort. Too many fans have been ripping Geo. The last 2 games he has really stepped up. I am so proud of our entire team & coaches.
Geo deserved the critism he had been getting for poor play but also the atta boys for his last 3 halves. That's all anyone asked for. Control, leadership, and making a reasonable number of shots.
Funny how we've won those two games, no?

We need Geo to play like he has recently to win games consistently. The entire team struggles with consistency though which is to be expected as a young team. Hoping this is just the start of a real hot streak from Geo. He is due for a real monster of a game. HIs best game of the season is yet to come. Indiana would be a great time for it

I do not think we need a monster game from Geo. Just between 15-20 points like he has done recently, feeding the post players, and playing decent defense, not leaving his man for threes. Control the ball, limit turnovers, and move the ball no sticking or unnecessarily pounding the rock. He is our best player and we need him to consistently be our best player.

One thing being overlooked with Geo is after the Northwestern game he told the Media: "No Way we are ending up in last place in the conference".

This was immediately after it looked like we were destined again for last place. Would not be shocked if Geo as Captain called the Players Only meeting that weekend and caused his teammates (as well as himself) to challenge themselves.

Geo's comment took guts especially after the Northwestern disaster.

I said we need Geo to play like he has recently. I didn't say we needed a monster game from him. I said he is due for one... which he is. Coming home for a big game after a good win on the road could be the one where he really lights it up. Nails a bunch of 3's, has the step back working, gets to the hoop for a few. He's got a 25+ point game in him this season which we haven't seen yet
