I know it's a tight turnaround from last night, but what do we know about the Dawgs? They don't seem to be world beaters based on their record so far. I'm sure their coach (Tom Crean) has a few thoughts on NU having seen us several times in the BIG. How are we feeling about this match up?

I was in the camp that we would know what we have after the Providence game and this game, but I also thought that we would have Audige back by now. I'm not trying to make excuses, but he's a very important piece for us. We are beyond the "good losses" trope, Nance is a senior. But I'm still unsure what to make of this team. How much will we learn vs. Georgia w/o Audige?

On paper, we are a better team. However, the game will be played on hardwood. It will also be on ESPN2

I know nothing about GA other than they have sucked for a while now.

Looking at their numbers, their 3 tops scorers are seniors. Top scorer is 6'11. Let's do zone!

They seem challenged on offense, averaging 67 points a game. Their 2 wins are against very minor competition in FL International and SC State. Their 3 losses are against decent, but not great teams in Cincinnati, GA Tech and VA.

I predict an unimpressive performance with a 5 point win.

Cincy slaughtered the Illini.
Down 23-8 after 8 minutes, Cincy laid a 53 - 15 beatdown on Illinois over the next 25 minutes while cruising to a 20 point win.

Cincy only beat Georgia by 5.

We'd better show up ready for the opening tip for once.

That's what I was going to say. That Cincy team destroyed the Illini.

This strikes me as a good, tough matchup. The teams Georgia has beat (KenPom rankings in parenthesis) - SC State (350) and FIU (281) - are very comparable to the teams that the Cats beat - FDU (326), EIU (346), High Point (265), and New Orleans (316). The teams that Georgia lost to Cincy (73), Georgia Tech (59), and Virginia (61) has lost to are very comparable to the team that NU just lost to (60). The difference is that NU has played more of those 250+ teams while Georgia has played more of that 50-75 level of competition.

Their top scorer is 6'11"? Maybe CCC will unleash our secret weapon tonight. He'll be well rested at the very least.

I wrote in another thread I had a hunch IL was going to the last year's MSU. Not likely, but it crossed my mind as a possibility.

Former SIU and Gonzaga point guard, Aaron Cook, was granted additional year of grad school eligibility, and transferred to Georgia and is starting point guard.

Georgia is neck and neck with Pitt in the race to be the worst major conference team this season. This is a "should win" if we're supposedly good this year.

Yup. Did what we were supposed to. Nice to see the shots falling in the first half.
