Yes, Georgia Tech had a legit shot at the tournament this year. They return their top 3 scorers in Alvarado, Banks, and Devoe. They bring in two very capable transfers in Bubba Parham (21.4 ppg at VMI - 40% from 3) and Jordan Usher (8.6 ppg at USC). That's a starting 5 that would be capable of making the NCAAs. Not a definite, but decent odds. GT already has a solid defense, they just need scorers. The transfers will give them much better balance.
FWIW, Bart Torvik has GT projecting to go 10-10 in conference play, which would most likely make them a bubble team. This
article published just last week projects Georgia Tech as a 2nd Round team. Seems like the infractions are rather minor. Don't think the crime fits the punishment, tbh. But, what else can we expect from the NCAA?
