What an embarassment! An entire section directly behind your home team and it's usually half empty. Even tonight it was half empty most of the game. These are premium seats for wealthy people or corporations that care little about football. Make it a restaurant for next year if they want but scrap this terrible idea and put your die hard, hardcore fans behind the team's bench.

The problem, like I said, it was half empty the whole game. The rest of the crowd was the most electric I've ever been a part of and it was fun even though I can barely talk this morning.

Plus, horse racing has no business in SEC football. Get rid of that stupid bugle pregame.

I disagree. It is a large part of this SEC state's economy, culture and history, and is one of big things this state is known for (that isn't a bad thing like obesity, educational ranking, smoking rate etc.).

The people that deny the significance of horse racing to this state are usually the ultra conservative bible beaters and/or people from eastern Ky where horseracing isn't as prominent.

Not to high jack a post....but. I live 3 hours from Lexington so I don't get to experience a lot of the local things. I've always liked Keeneland and finally got to go on a tour back when I was there for my anniversary. And I must say that place is awesome. Loaded with history. And local history is my thing.

A lot of those fans are eating, drinking, and socializing in the enclosed luxury suite rather than down in their seats. I had a chance to visit the area during my daughter's UK orientation and thought it was first-rate.

By the way, as someone from out-of-state, I think UK should fully embrace the ties to the racing industry and make it part of the program's identity. I like every bit of it. The call to the post, the paddock area, the racing silk checkerboard pattern on the uniforms, etc. It's smart to play it up. Being in the heart of horse country with Keeneland, the Kentucky Horse Park, and all those local horse farms is a big part of Kentucky's charm and appeal.

What a ridiculous and untrue generalization. I am a proud Kentuckian and wear the label of Hillbilly with pride. We unworthy and unwashed actually understand Kentucky history and take pride in all aspects of it. Clearly, you can't make the same statement. I'm also a UK alum, an evangelical and am ultra conservative.

If they help them win games I'm all for it. People not in the stands does not help us win games. If we want to incorporate Keeneland then pass out bugles for us to blow and make noise. I know the SEC would try to ban them but if tell them to ban the cow bells and then we'll give up the bugles.

I've only been in Lexington two years for dental school (Ole Miss undergrad), but the the connection between UK football and horse racing is pretty cool. The pregame video showing racing and the players is awesome and I the call to post is really unique. Why get rid of something that is huge in the state and sets you apart?

And last night's atmosphere was right up there with any game I've been to at Ole Miss.

Get rid of losers that are happy being almost.500 SEC team in year 4. SEC is absolutely garbage and while we could of taken advantage, Mitch **** the bed again.

Bash me. Don't care. Can't wait to come here after the coach we should have r**** us.

And another thing. If you get rid of the paddock area where do you think those same peoples seats will be. The exact same area as they have been for years. Get the extra money off of them! It's helping pay for facility ipgrades.

Allegedly a cow wandered onto the field and they had to stop the game. After that they beat Alabama (I think it was bama, who knows, who cares) and since then the cowbells have been a thing. I've always thought it was BS because its an unfair advantage and the SEC bans fans from bringing noise making devices but they have an exemption.

So at least its football related.

As long they pay their bills, I could care less. Heck if I was younger I would slip down there and sit in their empty seats for free.

The call to the post is basically the only original and cool football tradition we have ... we've been doing it since the 80s at least.
