Well, hope he does well. Seems like a good kid. Sorry he never did much of anything at Duke.

Injuries suck.

I hope he has a long NBA career. Seems like an awesome kid who has had some terrible luck.

We knew this was coming. He doesn't really have a choice, IMO. Someone is going to take a chance on his potential and pay him guaranteed money. If, by chance, he never reaches the potential we all saw two years ago, it won't be because he did or didn't stay at Duke. This is a big picture move, IMO.

So sorry we didn't get to see the "real" Harry Giles while @ Duke, but those of us that were fortunate to see him in HS before he got hurt, got to see what might have been. We only saw a "wee smidgen" of his abilities and only a couple of times, but it sure was exciting.
Personally, I hope God touches his knees and gives them strength and stability, so that he can at least regain his form and enjoy his career. Seems like a great kid, and I for one, sure hate to see him go and wish him the very best.
Go Duke!

This was as non-surprising as Tatum leaving IMO. He can't risk another injury, at least he will be getting paid. I hope he has a great career as he seems like a great kid.

I just have a hard time seeing Jackson go. That would be far more extreme/worse than when Tyus left. His stock was at least high. I think Luke is gone and Grayson will ultimately decide to go as well. I wouldn't be surprised if he does come back though.

So tomorrow another or are we in the stage that the rest of the guys are actually thinking about it without minds made up?

My only hope is that Grayson returns and becomes the all American he was projected to be this year. I haven't heard much regarding his name yet from the board

K didn't take Grayson out after conceding to SC, raised my eyebrows at that one.

Losing Luke will SUCK. SSUUUUUCCCCKKKK. That's the kind of kid we kept for four years for a long, long, long time.

Goddamnit. Don't mind losing the guys you know are OAD, but christ almighty I'm going to hate losing the others.

TIFWIW, but I'm hearing Luke tomorrow.
I heard same thing from a source today. He said "do not be shocked in the next 3 days if Jackson, Kennard, and Allen all declare". He has been pretty spot on, hopefully he is wrong about at least one of them.

Harry played a role in that ACC tourney run. Good luck young man. No regrets keep moving forward.

I figured. No word on gray
It is going to be an interesting 17-18 season, especially if we do not land Duval or Knox. I anticipate Luke and Grayson in the next couple days and Bolden soon. Does that leave us with 7 scholarship players?

There's just a lot of unknowns right now. Your post is assuming the worst. I don't foresee that being the case. I think both Duval and Knox are here next season.

None....that I've heard. But other posters here say they're hearing things, so who knows.

No one, not even K saw Luke improving this fast. Kennard progressed more this year than Redick did from soph to junior season. Pitino said most coaches considered Luke top 3 scorer in country.

fan since langdon committed (i'm from alaska, he went to my high school, though he was 6 years older than me)

is this really happening?

jones and jefferson graduating
jeter and obi transferring
tatum and giles to the nba

that is 6 already, which as far as my quick research says is tied for the most we've lost in a season ever with

99 (langdon, domzalski, burgess, avery, brand and maggette)
14 (dawkins, thornton, hairston, hood, parker and murphy) and
15 (ojeleye, sulaimon, cook, winslow, jones and okafor)

is duke really going to lose 4 more players (bolden, kennard, jackson and allen)?

its just a lot to take in for such a roller coaster season that ended in the 2nd round

E-mail K's admin that your are unsettled and maybe she passes that along to the GOAT. Maybe K sends you note like Frank Martin!

I have emailed her before and "K" replied after a couple of weeks. Whether or not it was him is besides the point, it was signed Coach K so it has to be him, right?

Frank leaving early would truly baffle me, he played out of position most of the year I just don't get it. I haven't seen him on any mock drafts lately, but maybe I'm looking at the wrong ones.

Curious to hear why some think jackson would leave for the NBA. Not exactly eye opening stats for the season or the run Tyus had in the tourney.....he isnt even the best "Jackson" that may be in the draft....I'd take the KS version before him . I think he needs at least another year to build strength and his game.

Frank is my guy and I've checked every draft board including overseas leagues. Haven't seen Jax any higher than mid 2nd round.

Grayson is not much higher either so hopefully that will help make his decision easier as well.

I keep hearing Bolden leaving but what I don't hear is that he's going to be a 1st round pick. Yes he could transfer but he has to sit a year unless there is a special circumstance. Yes he could get drafted in the second round and make the team or go play in Europe or get some experience in the D league. Or he could stay at Duke , work his butt off and have a 1st round season next year. He's a wild card for sure. OFC

Absolute right decision for Harry. He has had three knee surgeries and he is 19 years old. He needs to start getting paid ASAP. Best of luck to him!

I beg to differ. I think he worked his butt off, gave everything he had and supported the heck out of his teammates. He took a huge risk in de idling to even play this year, one that many of us wouldn't have made. Props to Mr. Giles, I'm gonna miss the kid's great attitude. I will always remember this kid as being a great Duke player!

I liked harry a lot I think his rebounding was awesome...

As for Luke and Grayson if either leave which they will I'll probably be sadder then I've ever been after a season but if both leave I might be in a psych ward lol
