I done mean to beat this to death and apologize if discussed in another thread... I'm just curious if anything official has been discussed about Harry playing on Monday and if the Mon/Wed games are still the expectation? Thanks!

I've had enough birthdays. I'm not going to celebrate any more for a while.

Sounds like physically he's ready but they don't have him quite up to speed on the 5 on 5 situation yet. May be a little bit more wait, we'll see.

Actually, this Monday is my birthday. I have even said no to any birthday party for me because Duke is playing and I had hopes that Harry would as well. Good news is, Duke will win this one, as last year Duke lost to Utah in OT on my birthday.

I'm no Dr. but if he's physically there and it is just mental why wouldn't he get spot minutes against Tenn st and Elon. He doesn't need to start or play 20 minutes but a few minutes against lesser competition seems to be the prudent thing to do rather than throwing him into ACC play from the start.

Yeah, these next two games are a great opportunity missed if he doesn't play. He's been physically ready for a month. If it's truly because of a lack of 5-5 physical practice that's on the coaches even with the injuries. There's lots of ways to get in physical full court practice maybe not against studs but the next two games don't have studs against duke either. Maybe harry isn't comfortable yet?

Maybe he won't play at all.somebody will take a chance on him and early whether he plays or not.Good news for us is we're still the best team in the country without him.so I'm not to worried about it. if he comes back yay. if not, I wish him the best.

I agree nasty I'm not getting the not practicing 5 on 5 thing I mean you have 2 games ahead to practice just that... 5 on 5 if he's physically ready and not mentally lol. It's not like they are real phisical teams anyway. No where near as good/phisical as the 5 on 5 he would be getting in practice! And why can't they practice 5-5 in practice anyway? Sounds like an escuse for something else to me.it doesn't make sense to me ,but when does Duke injury news/updates..it's handled poorly imo. it's inconsistent how they handle it each time.not saying me as a fan is entitled to any of it, but I do support the team I mean...I would just love some consistency in how they handle it, and just a tiny bit of honesty. Its just a mess ..everytime..i know I know I don't deserve anything and they owe me nothing..lol I'm just a fan..

Yeah, from our perspective it definitely seems like a no-brainer to have him run up and down the court a few times in 8 minutes or so against TSU and Elon. That seem like a much easier task than throwing him into an ACC game or even going up against Jefferson, Bolden, and Jeter in practice. But whatever they feel is necessary

One bad thing is the longer he takes to come back, the more people are going to talk about it resulting in more pressure and higher expectations when he does indeed come back.not saying that's how I feel but just how the world works lol. I know People are telling him "look you don't have to prove anything playing this year somebody is going to draft you and early!" Thats why I'm almost wondering if he doesn't play in these 2 games does he play at all?Theres no better time then this the rest of the year. Especially if he's physically ready now..Has me scratching my head after reading what capel said and past experiences of how they handle things..

I think a lot of you are truly missing the big picture here. Irregardless what you read at every opponents board, K DOES care about Harry's future. He doesn't want to push him and have another setback or possibly even end Harry's career. It's a NO Win situation for K. Whenever he brings Harry back, if he gets hurt, half the country will talk about how K is so selfish and it's all his fault. Which is total BS. Harry wants to play so bad it's just about kill him , but our staff has to think about his future, the kid is going to big huge at the next level barring health issues that K is basically in charge of right now. I know it sucks, but it's the hand we've been dealt. I'm NOT going to sit here and try to figure out how this is in some way K's fault. It isn't, and that's the bottom line.

Show's got some good intel, so if his guy is saying he may not play that means it's coming from somewhere of note.

I will say I've heard since Jayson came back that Harry would be good to go against either Tennessee St. or Elon with Tenn St. at home.

I get it, it's a product of the one and done where individuals are more important than the program. I also get the program is great this year with or without Harry.

K has adapted to this and it will allow duke to get more studs in the future. As a duke fan and someone that played D1 it bothers me. I clearly was never in a situation like Harry with the NBA so I get it. But I just remember all players of all sports doing everything they could to play and win for the university. I got rushed back from a pulled hamstring so fast.

I will be really surprised if we see Giles play this season. Either way we're going to be perfectly fine.

How could anyone with a logical mind (i.e. not the majority of THR) blame this situation on K?

As bad as I want him back, I'm almost to the point that I'm not going to sweat it one way or the other. Just like last year with Amile, if he plays fine, if not, then we should roll with with what we have and enjoy the season. We have something special with or without Giles, and it's gonna be a fun ride.

I was at this point a while ago, haha. This is a fun team to watch and a title contender. I plan to support the guys on the floor and not go crazy over the guys that aren't.
