Word is coming out that, barring any setback, we WILL see HG3 play on the 19th or 21st.

Just thought I would brighten your mornings :)

I have been guessing the 19th, it's a home game to get acclimated similar to Tatum, then a road game in greensboro on the 21st to increase minutes.

I'm also very hopeful because i'll be there on the 21st.

This has been the speculation. Sure would be fun to have him in the lineup and on the court.

Yup! Definitely not a secret. But my (again limited) sources are finally all agreeing. I am excited to see him in action.

The thought of Grayson, Luke, Tatum, Giles and Amile on the floor at the same time has me re-energized and motivated to be productive on this snowy Michigan afternoon.

TOTALLY Agree w/your assessment- just hard to IMAGINE K having that group get significant burn without Matt on floor....

Man what better story for Giles than if he plays, stats healthy, wins an NCAA title and solidifies his standing as a top pick? I mean hell even without the NCAA title it would just be an truly awesome experience for the kid who has been through so much adversity.

Assuming:
1. They could play even average defense.
2. Harry is as advertised.

This lineup appears nearly unstoppable. Who do you focus on? SO MANY WEAPONS.

Tatum, and Amile can play really good D, Grayson is OK, Giles was awesome defensively in HS. Luke would be the weak link like he is now.

Also everyone except Luke has an above average wingspan for their respective position. The length we be a huge factor on defense.

If Giles is as advertised (Lord knows he has a ton of hype to live up to) and we can get Grayson healthy, a line up of Grayson/Luke/Tatum/Giles/Amile is just unfair for the rest of college basketball.

and Luke isn't even that bad. I have seen a lot worse.
When giving 100% effort and focus he is pretty good, he just has some carmelo anthony/james harden "i'm not going to really try" defensive moments each game.

He has lapses for sure. I do think he is much better defending this year as opposed to last year though.

He's allowed ocassional lapses if he goes on the other side of the court and does his thing.

Tru Cane and Neners you have hit the nail squarely on the head. If Giles can play as advertised and stay healthy and fulfill his dream of playing in the NBA he will already be a winner, ever if he doesn't lead us to the NCAA title. He has a huge task ahead of him just playing like everyone says he will and we ALL need to keep things in perspective and remember he hasn't played in 1-1/2 years. Just to play will be huge for him and to be fair to the kid we should give him time once he begins playing. Of course we all want the same thing and thats to see him make us unstoppable, annihilate the competition, beat the dog crap (or ram crap) out of UNCheat and win a National Championship.

Very excited to watch Harry, massive fan of his game, especially being from Winston. Cameron will lose it's stuff when he hits the floor.

Exactly. He has to adjust to the college game, as all freshmen do. He has to make this adjustment behind everyone else, playing against players that now have several games under their belts this season. On top of that, he has to adjust physically and mentally to his post-injury/post-surgery body. He has to regain confidence that "Yes, I can explode to the basket and my knees will be okay. I can cut, I can change pace, I can be aggressive. My body can do this." I feel so sappy because I'm already so proud of the kid for how excited he is to take all of this on. I think it says tremendous things about him. And I don't want this post to come off as me doubting his ability to be great. I just want fans to give this young man time to become great.

Oh neither do I and I know we both fully expect him to be great right out of the gate but we must also use caution and patience with our expectations.
