Settle a bet: is “the shift” legal? I need to pull some tricks out of the bag for a playoff game tonight.
I put the shift on for two girls. The first one hit right into the shift. The second one went the other way with it. So we stopped doing that.I don’t know the answer, but that seems like the kind of thing that would lead to a viral Tik Tok of a coach fight.
Near-18 years old GD umps those type games. She likes the $40/hr.I put the shift on for two girls. The first one hit right into the shift. The second one went the other way with it. So we stopped doing that.
Btw, the four coaches on the other team almost tried to fight a 16 year old umpire because he was 3 for 3 on close calls going my team's way. Classless effers. I hope they make it to TikTok. I'll never get losing your mind over a call for 10-year old girls' softball.
I'v been around fast pitch for 2 decades .. my statement about it " you havent seen crazy til you've seen softball crazy" its a form of insanity rarely matched .I had a good family acquaintance nearly come after me on a game ending call. Oh. I wasn’t the umpire. Not a coach. I was the 13 year old scorekeeper and announcer.
Sports make people do strange things.
After watching some of the softball college World Series, I’m cool with that. Hope they videotape it.I looked at the rule book and all it says is “Softball is nothing but lesbians.”
WTF?
It’s like saying you can’t play zone…you can only plan man to manI never understood the backlash against the shift. Why the hell should I have to position a player somewhere I know you aren't going to hit the ball?
