Also, if anybody hasn’t seen the Das Boot TV series, I recommend it. It’s mostly subtitles but freaking awesome.

Anyways, give me some war movies. You can skip Saving Private Ryan and the like, I wasn’t born yesterday.

1983's The Day After and 1984's Threads aren't war movies, but they deal with the aftermath of war, specifically the consequences of global nuclear war, with relatively gut-wrenching realism. They're both a bit sensational, but overall they both hold up really well IMHO.

If you want some laughs, try Blackadder Goes Forth. It's pretty safe to say that there's never been a greater sitcom about a British captain who's trying to con his way out of a trench in Flanders during WWI. :)

If you want a war move, a horror movie, and a comedy all in one that you will laugh your arse off all at the same time then try Dog Soldiers (NSFW Language):

Not sure this would be classified as a true war movie..... Family of Spies.

Bastards should have been drawn and quartered.

I guess I better keep my "mouth" shut...... for once...
