Go Tell the Spartans.

Or better yet, if you can find one where the politicians who get us in these endless wars lead a bayonet charge, I'd watch.

Also, if anybody hasn’t seen the Das Boot TV series, I recommend it. It’s mostly subtitles but freaking awesome.

Anyways, give me some war movies. You can skip Saving Private Ryan and the like, I wasn’t born yesterday.
Platoon is my all time favorite.

Only one for Paths of Glory? It's excellent.

Others not mentioned, I think:

The Piano
Last King of Scotland
MASH
Catch 22
The Hurt Locker
Hell in the Pacific
Jacob's Ladder
The Manchurian Candidate (both)

Great list except Windtalkers. I thought that was epically awful.

Did you see they are making a band of brothers type thing with the Air Force I believe? Tom Hanks is involved. It’s called Masters of Air. Can’t wait. Loved BOB and Pacific.

Well if we're going to include movies like Robin Hood then I liked that one where Richard Gere played Lancelot and Sean Connery was King Arthur... "First Knight" I think the name was.

And we might as well throw Excalibur (1981) in there plus the greatest war movie of all time:

ARMY OF DARKNESS
