If the climate had not been made political to “take advantage of a crisis,” so to speak, we would be able to reasonably discuss the negatives AND positives of a warming world. But, fear mongering sells more papers, makes people more money, and drives votes.
I’ve always been somewhat fascinated by glaciers, but do not pretend to understand them.

If people are objective, defeating global warming as an ideal is absolutely one of the easiest arguments ever.
I knew years ago it was questionable soon as i saw they removed outlier temps in forming their conclusion. Then i immediately knew it was bs soon as i saw how many outliers they removed. If theyre tracking something like temps, there are no such things as outliers. Then when you have to designate so many outliers, that in and of itself means it isnt an outlier at all.
If that wasnt enough, the neverending name change should say it all. Of course as with most things nowadays, people form their opinion first then look for facts to back it.
I don’t care about climate change - but that reporting is one of the worst things I’ve ever seen

The answer is a resounding no. The funny way it ties into this topic is covid was all just literally reworked global warming propaganda. Down to the letter.
Alex Newman is permanently feathered into the right wing of the political divide. Nothing he publishes can be regarded as moderate or impartial. He is successful only because there is a senseless demand for the version of mind candy that he sells.
There has never been a time when news reporting has been 100% trustworthy. It just seems worse today because anyone who has an agenda can mount a campaign on social media to advance his world view. Conspiracy theorists have come out of the woodwork and muddy up the waters of impartial journalism.
I choose to ignore the “journalists” and their myriad agendas and look to science for answers. It’s easy to do now because scientists’ works are so accessible. Also, AI is now available to translate the jargon of scientific publications into plain English.
I make my own decisions rather than depending upon journalists to craft them for me. It takes a bit of work but the alternative is not acceptable to me.

An even easier way to discern reality is to patronize many media sources. Don’t rely on one source for your info.
Absolutely. Just be aware that lots of charlatans are slinging that word around like they have credentials. Know your sources for info.
I have no doubt that there is so form of climate change. Whether it's cyclical or man made, no idea. I suspect some of both but we definitely don't have enough unbiased information to make an accurate assessment.

Gorgeous days in Kentucky yesterday and today (not sure about Neptune). The record high for yesterday’s date was 104 in 1913. Record low for yesterday was 57 in 1976. We hit a high of 82 yesterday. Got 80 so far today. Looking at a high of 84. Beautiful for July.

Imo it means nothing in terms of global warming other than it's always interesting to see the all time high for a given day is often much hotter and usually a long time ago.
That alone entirely defeats the notion of global warming. If there was true warming, youd see increases over the prescribed period of time. It just doesn't exist as a matter of actual fact.
I just want those that are terrified about man made global warming to stop driving cars, flying in planes, and using electricity.
Now now. Those are rules for others to follow. Their virtuous pursuit of this goal more than warrants their need for such exceptions.
On a serious note, i remember years ago someone telling me they will get worried when they see people that matter act worried.

We won’t stop until everyone is required to stop, just like we won’t voluntarily pay more taxes than we owe until everyone must pay more.
Haven't been on this thread in months and saw that it came back up to the top so I thought I would see what is new and lo and behold, it is about the same 4 or 5 guys having the same conversation with each other they've had for months now. There’s no reason to be terrified. It’s like the boiling frog story. Frogs cannot sense a slow change in the temperature of the water around them. If you plunge them into boiling water they'll immediately jump out. But if you place them into room temperature water and slowly heat it to boiling, the frog won't notice and will slowly cook to death.
No reason to be scared. It’s going to take a long time.

Ok, then they should be proactive to stay ahead of the crisis. Start biking and take a horse and buggy everywhere. And don’t even think about going jet setting to Europe for a vacation in the South of France.

The die is cast. Earth’s environment is changing, fast. The First World nations are not the only exploiters anymore. Second World exploiters China and India have dynamic manufacturing systems that are consuming raw materials far faster than the US ever did. Brazil is cutting down the Amazon rain forest at an incredible pace. And Third World countries are eating some species of animals to extinction. Bush meat is a term that best defines most Third World countries.
So, actually the climate change debate is masking the most immediate destruction of our only world. It may get oppressively hot in 100-150 years. Will we last that long to see it?

If we could collaborate and pull data from the non-humans, we might be able to understand this issue better.
Plus every single one of these "hottest ever" studies removes lower temperatures as outliers to achieve the desired outcome.
Its all in the leaked emails from years (now over a decade) ago. They explained this was exactly how they got their results.
