43% inside the arch is not good shooting.

3 point shooting brings everyone's shooting percentage down.

I'm not bagging the guy, but please let's not try to sell that he was a good shooter of the ball.

On the bright side, his shooting percentage numbers weren't that far off of Buddy Hield's shooting when he was a freshman. Buddy shot .388 his freshman season and through a TON of practice and shooting he lifted that shooting to .501 his senior season. It can happen, but the dedication to shooting in practice has to be there.

Of course it is. You said so in a previous thread several weeks ago in which you were bagging on him. You don't miss a chance. I believe you said mid 40s is a good %. Again, he is hitting jump shots with very few close-to-the-basket attempts, like those you compared him to in your prior post. Not to mention that he is often times making his own shot from the outside. You seem to think he is a weak link, when he is clearly one of the best players. I have no problem with him taking shots. He is very good with the mid-range jump shot. Yes, he needs to improve on the 3's.

The numbers say otherwise. I believe fans were infatuated with the freshman phenom and somehow ignore the facts. Yes, mid 40s is a good shooting percentage when you INCLUDE the 3 point shot. You can't simply ignore that part of the game from a guard's evaluation.

I honestly think he will be a good even very good player but he really needs to work on his shooting.

I think some fans want to be so excited about an athletic young point guard and I don't blame them. But you simply can't ignore the numbers. He's not a good shooter. I am hopeful that he works on it and becomes that olayer that all the fans want.

His 3 pointers brought him down, he shot around 43% from inside the arch. Using Shields / White / Webster is a bit misleading as they are bigger guys who will have more opportunity from close range.

He was forced to shoot many times when the clock wound down, he had a great year for a true freshman at NE. You need a guy like him that can get his own shot whenever he chooses. His % will go up as he matures. I just don't see how you can see anything but positives with him offensively.

The only valid criticism is his defensive play, he was a liability there. His steals partially made up for his poor one on one defense IMO.

Can he hit an open man and also create his own shot and hit a 12 foot jumper?

Well as a TRUE freshman last year he did pretty well In everything you stated. I'm just wondering were u trolling or dother you not watch NU bball?

Not saying that... I don't base Miles on one head to head sorry... This is the Creighton?NU comparison I made a while ago on huskerhoopscentral

Please note that Prior to 2012 the ratings were different so I will put an () on the recruits that were prior to 2012

Creighton

Marcus Foster - 75 3*
Kyrie Thomas - 78 3*
Ronnie Harrell - 84 4* 71st overall
Davian Mintz - NR
Jordan Scurry - NR
(Maurice Watson - 92 4* 92nd overall)
Tyler Clement - NR
(Cole Huff - 86 2*)
Kaleb Joseph - 86 4* 50th overall
Martin Krampelj - NR
(Isaiah Zierden - 88 2*)
Justin Patton - 80 4*
Toby Hegner - 74 3*
Zach Hanson - NR

4* = 4
3* = 3
2* = 2
NR = 5

Nebraska

Tai Webster = 79 3*
Anton Gill = 88 4* 48th overall
Glynn Watson Jr. = 84 4* 73rd overall
Jack McVeigh = NR
Michael Jacobson = 70 3*
Evan Taylor = 69 2*
Malcom Laws = NR
Nick Fuller = 79 3*
Ed Morrow = 85 4* 53rd overall
Jeriah Horne = NR
James Palmer Jr. = 79 3*
Isaiah Roby = 78 3*
Jordy Tshimanga = 79 3*

4* = 3
3* = 6
2* = 1
NR = 3

Looking at talent on paper Nebraska has the edge... I don't know what Creighton's "NR" are like on other sites, but I'd be willing to bet none are rated higher than Jeriah Horne.

Also 3 of Nebraska's six 3* star guys are 4* on other sites Jordy Tshimanga, James Palmer and Isaiah Roby.

So if you want to say ESPN is not a good judge of talent and that is why Creighton looks weaker there... good luck looking better on other site who all have Nebraska recruits rated higher.

The only thing Creighton has on Nebraska is Greg McDermott. Not saying he is a better coach "Overall" then Miles, but he definitely has a style that beats Miles head to head

I thought Horne was in the 150......

Also ALL of CUs success was with McDermott. Will be interesting to see who takes the game this year.
