Do you and others fans really buy this concept that a GM making a couple hundred grand, is going to run the books for a HC making 3M, 4M or 5 to 10M in hoops or football?? And tell that coach how much to pay or not pay?? That may work for someone like Bill Belicheck, who has his hands full with his 20-something year old Girlfriend......

It's a figure head position and waste of money. Let me know who is Rick Pitinos GM or who's telling any B1G coach what to pay and how much.....it's at best a traffic cop......

Feel so terrible for Bill Bellichick

Can someone explain the difference between the Director of Basketball Operations and a General Manager?

St Johns--mentions recruiting:

Rutgers-mentions recruiting

And while this bio does not mention recruiting, but I know for a fact Scott Scherer is actively involved in recruiting and assisting with mining the portal:

Bellichick needs to spend less time doing beach yoga and more time recruiting:

I mostly agree with that especially for basketball.

If this yet another hire impacted by the vacant Presidency/AD roles I get it (but don’t like it) - but if not it would be another example of RU being behind other institutions.

I get the point @NewJerseyHawk is making but the pod indicated this was a direction the AD was going.

This position doesn’t have the budget to work with that similar positions at competing schools will have. Hence the difficulty in filling it.
