I know that many share responsibility for the Bears meltdown, but Kyle Fuller might be viewed as the new Bill Buckner.

How could he possibly drop that pass?

It must be the Lyrica!

Because he is a defensive back. If he had stellar hands,...he would be a wide receiver.

And Goat of the Decade is a bit much. This is game one of the season. Not even a playoff game let alone a super bowl or World Series game.

This is the worst Bears flop I can recall since they lost a game to Minnesota in the late 70s. They had an "insurmountable" lead, and they blew it. In frustration, I threw an entire Sunday paper against the wall. Thank goodness, I finished today's Trib hours ago.

Regarding the goat reference, first, it was an easy, simple pass to catch. Any high school player could have held onto it. Secondly, it was against the hated Packers. If Fuller choked against San Diego, it would be soon forgotten. Now, I have t hear it from Packer fans ... and there is no one on earth more obnoxious than a Chicago-based Packer fan. (Okay, Red Sox fans are even bigger jerks, but only slightly).

Finally, Nagy's post game comments were way too calm. He should have expressed some severe disappointment. How 'bout a bit of anger? Even Lovie Smith knew that beating the Packers was the first goal for the season.

This is my 43rd and last year as a season ticket holder for the Bears. I'm transferring my PSL in February.

Of all those seasons, maybe fifteen were exciting. I have only myself to blame for wasting all those $. We haven't had much of a year since that funeral procession known as the 2007 Super Bowl.

Completely disagree. I for one, was very impressed with the play calling and the overall effort. As far as his post game commentary, I thought he showed a lot of composure, although he made it perfectly clear that they let a golden opportunity get away. As far as the Fuller play went; of course he should have caught the football, but as someone eluded to previously, that is precisely why he is on the defensive side of the ball. I for one, feel like we are in good hands with this young man as the head coach.

Being a Packers fan, I kind of liked it. But I'm not here to gloat. Clay Matthews could easily have been the goat in that game too.

Per usual, you are filled with hyperbole.
Your season tickets just became more valuable. Last night we all witnessed a competitive Bears team. This new look Bears will be fun to watch.

We need to replace Fuller. That was tough to watch. But Trubisky is very promising. The kid can run. I love his mobility. Mack is a game changer. And how about our new rookie at middle line backer? Our duo running backs are talented. This team has tremendous potential.

The true goats of the year are the panty waste that kneel during the anthem & did nothing about the true problems going on during the off season when no cameras were rolling

The kneeling has nothing to do with respect for veterans or active military. The only reason for the uproar is that someone wanted to get the New Jersey Generals into the NFL on-the-cheap and didn't get it.

Politics is a no-no on this board, so I'll leave it there.

Oh brother! I laughed out loud when I read your first paragraph. That's because I got a visual of you firing that Trib into the wall. I believe you! But, I'll side with you on most of this. No question Fuller should have had that ball. It was the only time in the game I let out a scream. Luckily, I was watching the game on the lower level family room and wifey was sleeping on the 2nd floor. She didn't hear me.

Some guys here are making posts that seem to suggest it's ok to lose to the Packers...ever. I don't care who you are and who you're playing. In the NFL if you have a 20-0 lead in the 3rd quarter, you should win every time. Every time! Rodgers was immobile laterally and I can't figure out why the Bears didn't try to blitz up the middle. Answer? I think they were tired, period. They were flying all over the place in the first half and went into hibernation in the 4th quarter. Someone needs to remind these guys you play 60 minutes in the NFL. There are no excuses for losing a game like that.

I don't know if anyone else was listening, but I heard Hub Arkush on the radio this morning at 9:00 and the guy wanted to make me puke. He actually sounded ok with the loss because the Bears almost beat the Packers and Aaron Rodgers.

I know it's only one game. But you only play 16 in that league. Teams that lose their first game have a 23% chance of making the playoffs and teams that win their first game make the playoffs 53% of the time. Every single game is important.

In week 2 of the 1988 season, the 49ers came back and beat the Giants with a late game TD pass from Montana to Rice. Didn't seem like much at the time. Both teams finished the season with 10-6 records. But because the 49ers beat the Giants, they made the playoffs and the Giants didn't. Do you all remember what happened in the NFC playoffs that year?

The 49ers beat the snots out of Minnesota in the first round 34-9. Then they came to Chicago and kicked the Bears' asses 28-3. They went on and won Super Bowl XXIII.

This is something I have always remembered when I hear people say it is only one game. I remember reading the paper during that season and seeing the 49ers with a 6-5 record and I was hoping they wouldn't make the playoffs. Then they went on to win 7 of their last 8 games and won the whole damned thing.

Disagree as it has nothing to do with the President who has spoken up for people who respect this Nations values !

These "protesters" should take a knee in the locker room away from the cameras and are just try to draw to attention to themselves !

Dr Martin Luther King Jr they ain't !

Not wishing to be kicked off the board, I'll end my participation in this discussion here. Previous threads on this subject went on for weeks and got nowhere.

Nagy doesn't have "THE FIRE AND THE PASSION!"...come on.
Beating the Packers is matters the same as Det and MN, only because they are division games.

Maybe next pre-season Nagy will rethink his use of the starters during those games to get the players ready to compete at a high level for 60 minutes (or more) of clock time in regular season Game 1.

sleeves are a disease of bad receptions. get rid of them, the ball will stick a little easier to the forearm than the slippery sleeve.

Man there are a bunch of Chicken Littles on this board. The sky isn't falling fellas. The Bears are getting better. Very few people even thought this would be a close game let alone the Bears leading after 3 quarters! Did the wheels fall off? Yep, but they will learn and grow from that pain. I'm happy I'm watching a team that has some really good days ahead of them. 8 - 8 maybe 9 - 7 this year. Playoffs lock next year and they will contend.

I don’t care for politics either but it isn’t police,Caucasians or statues killing ppl in the inner city and I’ll leave it at that.I told you facts anyway.Crime & single mother’s and other problems have nothing to do with politics
