Bought a couple bottles last night in honor of the King, one of my 3 favorites of all time.

I went Ping irons over a decade ago... Didn't do the Ping woods.... As time went by the 1 & 5 got to where they didn't take direction well... Found a G30 Reg at end-of-season price... It was a rocky start but we came to an agreement... The G30 said, "dude, relax and swing me sweet and easy and I'll do you right". So this year I spied a new/used G30 5 metal, with an Aldila R-shaft and hit it pretty good last time out....

So yes I like my G30's... I've always been a R-shaft player... But if you're a guy that goes after one then ya might wanna think S-shaft...? Get on the machine maybe? See what's working..... At my age, sweet and easy is the place for me.....

Thanks. I know what you mean. Hadnt been fitted in about 15 years so went and hit a couple. Ended up picking up the G30 driver with the stiff. Loving it so far after 2 rounds. Probably will add some metals/hybrids as I'm long overdue for an upgrade there as well.

Played today and let me tell you, golf is a stupid game. Especially in a twenty mile per hour wind. I think it's a fad and I can't see it lasting more than two or three hundred more years.

Shot a 37 on the front nine.

83 at Big Blue yesterday in hurricane winds. Didn't know the University Club had gone full public. Course is in great shape. Greens where lightning fast.

Played 9 on Friday. Shot a 37.

Played in a dogfight yesterday morning. Shoot a nice 91. I am going to blame the Cats because if it was not for them whipping UCLA and making me drink too much and staying up too late I know my golf game would have been better :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

DJ winning was the only positive sporting event of the day for me.

Played The Wildcat on Saturday and shot 80. It wasn't in great shape. The greens had been aerated and were bumpy as hell. They've switched it around where the back nine is now the front nine. And what used to be 3rd hole is now the 10th hole. So now you finish on the par 5 that used to be the second hole.

I am looking to upgrade my irons, now 6 years old (Mizuno JPX 800). Love my Cleveland Rotex wedges, does Cleveland make some irons comparable to the JPX, i.e., good player irons, but not forged (not good enough to need or want forged). Or what are the good iron sets that Cleveland makes that I should look at? (9 HCP these days but trending better)

I don't think that because I like my Cleveland wedges I would tie myself to the Cleveland iron wagon. Too many better options available.

My other thought is to simply stick with Mizuno, and go with JPX 900, but not sure the newer clubs are really worth the money to me. Probably just keep the cash in my pocket

I don't really need new clubs but I would like to try the Callaway Apex forged and CF16 and the JPX 900s just to see what I am missing.

98% of courses/clubs are closed on Monday. I can't speak to munis.

You a server or something? Working doubles on the weekends? Most people work on Mondays, pretty important day for professional adults.
