I'll be impressed if I don't see a tOSU receiver running five yards behind him on a fly pattern.

That was some good insight into Jackson. I am hoping his hard work and improvement continues. Looks like it should...

Congratulations Lamar. I ve probably been about as critical of him as anyone on here.

Maybe it's clicked. He's probably never been benched before in his life. Many of div 1 athletes probably haven't. It hurts and it's confusing. But I have never known any coach that I've been associated with bench a kid out of spite. Performance, yes (or lack of). Discilinary, yes. Motivation, yes. Teachable moment, yes. Sometimes there's that kid that you just have to move on from.

Hopefully this has been tbat "click" moment Lamar Jackson needed. His performance has been better the last couple weeks. Hopefully there's pride in receiving that black shirt and he will turn into a leader.

Only thing I didn't like was where it says he reads pretty much everything on twitter and message boards.

My dude, that is guaranteed recipe to feel like ****. You can't control what other people think of you and you can't make them change their minds even if you prove them wrong. Spend your spare time on what makes you feel happy and confident. It will help you play with confidence.

We're a bunch of bored old guys, you're in college. Go do college things and enjoy the little down time you have.

PLUS I would think he would not have the time

Maybe he should listen to us. We obviously all know how to coach, recruit, lift, gameplan, and the list goes on better than our staff. He might pick up some pointers.

He should have refused the blackshirt. He hasn't earned it and the defense is ranked 111th in total D.

I didn't think he had earned it yet either, but DBs are more difficult for me to grade on the tape most of us see. I guess the part about him thinking he had earned it every week and expecting to see it in his locker tells me that the mental toughness aspect may have a little way to go. I'm sure the coaches know their players and which ones need to be handled differently than others in order to get them to respond? Maybe, maybe not. Just conjecture.

Haven't been around much lately to see the other conversations around this. Sorry I missed your sarcasm. You can just reply to me and tell me I missed it.

It wasn’t just this post. It’s others about this topic. Sorry if I came off as a dick. Not my intention

Lamar deserved all the grief he received. That said, he has played better the past few weeks. He seems to be on the cusp of breaking out. I still have questions about his physicality in the run game.
