I actually agree with the gist of this. Our rebounding should be improved this year and is key to moving up in the standings. If we improve this year it will mean that Nicholson is a contributor. Coach James has had him for over a year now and I think Matt will shock some fans.

I would be surprised if he gets significant minutes with Nance and Young both getting time at the 5.

Last year Nance got roughly 20 mpg at the 5, Young got 19 mpg, and Nicholson got 1 mpg. In 2020, Jones played 11 mpg, Young played 25 mpg and Nance played 4 mpg at the 5. Given that Young and Nicholson can't play together, we run into a dilemma here, because clearly CCC likes playing Nance at the 5, and both Young and Nicholson will want minutes. Considering how productive Young has been at times, and if Nicholson has improved enough to warrant court time, I don't know how you balance all of this unless you decide to return to Nance at the 4.

Will be an interesting storyline at the start of this year.

I would love to see Nance at the stretch 4 a majority of the time. If Nicholson can follow the trajectory of Young, that would be a huge boost, but that might be asking too much.

Sure hope not. This team is strongest with Young getting majority of minutes at the 5. Unfortunately, Collins didn’t appear to realize this for much of last year.
