Good win.

Defense was able to set the tone for the game with aggressive play while the offense continues to find its identity.

This has typically been the recipe for success under this coaching staff.

Jacobs looks like a talented target for Sellers at WR.

Fuller is a good compliment to the two finesse backs.

5 Straight Top 20 matchups on horizon with 3 of those in the Top 10 and 3 on the road.

Buckle up.

Gotta give some props to Dylan Stewart last night; unlike last week he competed whistle to whistle. Tuned some azzes up.

Still a chance for a solid season here. Defense finally had the attitude of last years team. Let’s not forget where this squad was after the Bama game last year.

Any SEC win for this team is a good win. I'm not minimizing it by saying that. We kicked @$$ last night.

Oklahoma might now be vulnerable in Columbia if their QB is still out or is impaired. I don't think we'll have enough offense to beat LSU on the road. I can't see a win over Bama, either. A&M out there with the pieces they have brought in? Unh-unh. Ole Miss out there? Unh-unh. Obviously, injuries to opponents or to us could twist the kaleidoscope some - one way or the other, but we're going to need more than one miracle.

Y'all who make the trip to Oxford owe it to yourselves to walk through the Grove, though. It's the best and most hospitable tailgating situation I've ever seen. It would be the highlight of your trip.

Y'all also need to be thinking creatively of some way we can get to a minimal bowl - if that's the kind of thing that floats your boat.

I'm not getting any crazy ideas. We could very easily come out and lay the biggest of eggs against LSU and display none of the characteristics that won us this game. But, yes, the we way played gives a glimmer of hope.

It's not reasonable to expect 3 defense-generated scores, but they were flying around pretty good last night. We did get some help from UK's QB being so awful and making some horrific decisions. But that was the most fire we've seen from them this season.

The offense didn't do much, generating just 14 points on their own, but I was encouraged to see Sellers doing a bit more Sellers stuff than he has so far this season. I think Sellers is one of those players who you just have to let him play the way he plays in order for him to be a dynamic playmaker. Not that he's uncoachable. I think Fuller needs to be the focus of the run game going forward if he can show the toughness he showed last night in ever game.

I'm far from optimistic, but last night's game was the first game this season where I saw any positives we can build on.

If our coaches are smart enough to do it.

It was a good win. It was necessary too. There’s still plenty to wonder about but that can be shelved for now to enjoy a 4th straight over Kentucky. Still bitter about that 5 games losing streak to them and glad they are a permanent opponent (for 4 years at least).

Defensive improvement was a bit of a relief (that one dude with a 6.6 ypc not withstanding). I have not been able to watch the whole game yet but looks like tackling was much improved and alot of solid contact/hitting that hasn’t been present this seson so far.

As I see it, the main problem we have is the offense is still not scoring enough. Of course, defensive scores and ST scores still count. But for the offense to average just a shade under 20 pts a game is not enough firepower to beat the heavy weights on our schedule. The well-coached teams won't make many mistakes that will result in scores.

End of half play by UK was enough evidence to fire Stoops. That was stupid. High chance of injury to any player on those plays. I watched Stewart a lot and didn't see him compete the whole game. He got a stunt which freed him up to make a play but when he was double teamed or the play wasn't in his area he just accepted the block from the OL and didn't try to make an effort. Prima donna if you ask me. Only competes hard on plays he has a chance to make a play.

The defensive and ST scores are fantastic, but the D and ST have accounted for 9 TDs this season while the offense has accounted for either 8 or 9. That is NOT a recipe for repeated success.

There is this thing when the defense and special teams score that the ball goes back to the opposing team. :)

Have you moved beyond firing DC Clayton White because you were imploring that happen last week at this time?

I want Shane to succeed and turn out to be THE GUY who can lead South Carolina out of mediocrity. IF the BOT did not back corrupt Jim Holderman over Jim Carlen, IF Joe Morrison had not died (assuming he would have survived the steroid situation), IF Holtz and Spurrier had been younger, I believe one of them could have gotten SC out of the mediocrity stage and sustained success. But, it was not meant to be. I look at Eli Drinkwitz and Lane Kiffin, why can't we have and sustain success here? In Drinkwitz 4th season, he went 11-2. Last season (his 5th), he went 10-3. This season, he is, thus far, 5-0. Kiffin went 10-3 in his 2nd season at Ole Miss, 8-5 his 3rd, then. 11-2, 10-3 and, thus far in his 6th season, 5-0.

When Beamer was hired, some of us were skeptical because he had never been an OC or DC. His Dad said that Bobby Ross, whom Frank worked for early in his career, had never been a OC or DC (actually, Ross had been a DC for one year). But during Ross' time at Maryland and Georgia Tech, he had his programs on mostly an upward trajectory.

I have confidence in Donati. He kind of reminds me of Mike McGee. I believe Donati will set Beamer straight and force some staff changes. Now whether Beamer will hire competent people, remains to be seen.. Sam Pittman was hired the year before Beamer. He had only one year of OC experience. And that was at the high school level. As we know, he was just fired by Arkansas. The UK win was, well, a win. But I would not get big- headed about it. UK might be the worst team in the SEC. The only reason he won't be fired after this season is because their AD was stupid enough to make Stoop's buyout $30 million plus  . Even Tanner was not that dumb. If this turns out to be a mediocre season, I suspect next season will be "make or break" for Beamer. Time will tell.

Gamecock Stock BOT is well known for his historical accounts of Gamecock Football.

He was busted more than once plagerizing soliloquies like the one above (Wiki, etc)

Note how he goes out of his way at the end to trash our victory over the weekend.

More on the esteemed paratrooper and oil barron soon.

Congratulations, I have been on this site for several years and you are my first ignore.

Goodbye!!

Doubtfire - No one is buying this type of production anymore. 😂

Skuddy is not a CPA from Charleston. He's another figment of your imagination.

On top of that, your writing style is a dead giveaway.

Nice try though.

Assuming it’s the same person I ignored, the ignores are really piling up.

Given you're the exact same individual, all of it adds up to one ignore. :)

More to come on this soon.

I've yet to see one real poster on this site choose to do this -- but maybe I missed it.

Keep trying to curry favor though Botman.

Your best defense is a good offense.

He is, 18. I remember when you ignored him. I put him on Ignore as soon as he came here from Scoop. I do not understand why Shoe lets troublemakers stay. But it's his site to do as he pleases

I tried to reason with the guy but that just wasn't happening. I don't understand the whole "same person" campaign, but it wreaks of mental instability to me.

I suppose he can't fathom that more than one person in the world would ever disagree with him. Erego, all the posters who disagree with him must be the same person.

It's time to play the music
It's time to light the lights
It's time to meet the Muppets on the Muppet Show tonight
It's time to put on make up
It's time to dress up right
It's time to raise the curtain on the Muppet Show tonight

Why do we always come here
I guess we'll never know
It's like a kind of torture
To have to watch the show

But now let's get things started
Why don't you get things started
It's time to get things started
On the most sensational, inspirational, celebrational, muppetational
This is what we call the Muppet Show

Oh, he doesnt really believe it himself. It's a troll, and nothing deeper than that.

On the old board, he would say ANYTHING to get a back and forth going. The moon landing was the most memorable, the govt conspiracies using vaccines to put chips in people was another. He really went off the rails toward the end.

But I dont think he buys his own garbage for even a second. When he gets someone to reply, thats all he's after.

I had an advantage over you: I posted some on the old Scoop site and saw how he acted there. As soon as he came over to this site, the first thing, or one of the first things, he did was to take a shot at me, and also a shot at Lurker. I said to hell with that and put him on IGNORE. I was not going to put up with his BS here where he could ruin another good site. I do not doubt that he is a good, loyal Gamecock fan. But that's no excuse to tolerate him being an a$$hole. I'm glad to see others put him on "Ignore". There are inevitably more to do so. Maybe he will take a good look at his behavior and straighten up. Anything is possible.
