I'm a Rutgers 07 grad. I've been a die hard fan since 2003. I've spent so many hours and days of my life on this athletics program. From getting our *** handed to us my freshman year to camping out and rushing the field v Louisville and burning couches on college ave. Losing heartbreakers in OT v WVU and last minute TD's by Penn State. Rushing the field again v USF. Then having to deal with the Ash years. Going to the NIT final at MSG v Michigan to making a tournament back to blowing an opportunity with Harper and Bailey. Taking my kids to basketball and football games to experience it.

I can't do it anymore. I just can't invest any more minutes of my life into this dumpster fire clown show *** stain *** shart of an athletics program. We hemorrhage money only to bestow aneurisms for those that watch and follow the program.

I've canceled my on3/rivals/scout(tos) subscriptions and removed Rutgers from my score mobile favorites. I've spent more than 20 years mentally invested in this abusive relationship and I can't do it anymore. Cleaning house isn't enough. Burn down the campus entirely and start again somewhere else. This program is cursed.

Watching Indiana win NC just a few years after Rutgers beat them, and then watching the lowly Knicks win a title once they found the right people, its hard to "keep chopping" with a program that does some things right but then just can survive Max Q. Get a couple of acceptable but mediocre seasons in the books but then go back to being a hooptie team with a condom offense where "being thafe!" and careful is more important than being bold and strategic. RU doesn't surprise anyone with the usual bubble screens on goal., Strong and Duff should be owning end zones instead of barely making dents. Minnesota has all the same problems with Fleck

Agree on Duff,

BUT

Strong plays for Cal now, so maybe he owns the end zone out there.....

I know but I look at last year when he only had 5 TDs that came vs 2 teams (3 vs Maryland and 2 vs Miami of Ohio). The year before Strong was #1 WR over Duff and a year latter he scores in only 2 games and Duff only has 7 TDs despite a top RB and good QB? Duff and Strong were both big and long and strong with good contested ball skills - they were built for red zone. Their scoring was really underwhelming and that's on RU coaching and play calling

Indiana's Omar Cooper Jr. and Elijah Sarratt combined for 28 TDs while Duff and Strong had 12 - less than half of Indy's TDs. Cooper and Sarratt were great but so where Duff and Strong. Put Sarratt and Cooper on RU and they have 12 TDs while Strong and Duff at Indy would have doubled,.

Cooper and Sarratt were #95 and #97 nationally for receiving yards. Duff was #7 and Strong was #30 - well ahead of Indy guys based on yards. That's RUs offense that gets yards along the sidelines between the 20s but then cant score. I can guess why Strong left. Guy wants to get drafted and he's only scoring in 2 games,

Yeah i checked out on the Mets as well . I'll be back when they right that team as well. I jsut cant watch every game. I look every couple of weeks.

Same will happen for many with Rutgers. Put it on the back burner until the University makes the changes necessary to fix this mess.

Indiana has a real OC and better offensive coaching overall.

It took a year at Indiana. That's the standard now.

I've been a fan since the mid-1960s. This is the closest I've ever come to walking away from this program.
We'll see.
I'm definitely cancelling my membership in the Greg Schiano fan club.

In fairness. RUTGERS ages u at a rate like no other.. 20 easily feels like 40 ..that makes me 100 and equally sick of this crap.
He was apparently in school for the zenith of Rutgers football. Many of us have been through much worse.

I think some from the Dr John /Burnsie era might be think of all the miserable years they went thought until Schiano gave them hope his first term but never reached the heights hoped for back then and constantly being disappointed by his replacements and the way the program looks to them today:
Long time RU fans, who felt the good and endured the bad, might say to those who feel the need to announce , for all the world to know, how they have stopped being Rutgers football fans.
The bandwagon always have those who jump off when times look bad and those who jump on when things look like good times might be ahead .
If you want to announce your departure , the nearest airport id the place to post it

So back to :"Long time RU fans, who felt the good and endured the bad, might say">
