At his height, I'd say closer to 500 pounds. I'm shocked our coaches let him get that big. Or I guess he could have packed out it on in the last month? Either way, if he can't get that under control he will never play anywhere.

This. Coaches can only do so much. Our nutrition and s&c program has more than proven it's effectiveness.

It's all on him. To the staff's credit, they didn't cave to the pressure and play him to satisfy him

You are right about that since I never saw a single practice. . And neither did you.

But, what I do know, since I saw every game this year, is how poorly the O line played all year.

LT and LG were two VERY WEAK positions this year.

Giving KG a few actual game snaps would not have significantly diminished the OLine play. Even if it was just on run plays.

There were zero irreplaceable players on the O line this year. ZERO!
Idk KG couldn’t even get it done on FG. Don’t think he was anywhere near ready to play

Apparently the U6 staff has turned him down.

It ain't no wonder if he showed up to the visit looking like he did in that photo from last night. The best thing this kid can do is return to UK, get serious about his workouts and diet and realize that he's much more a project at this stage than a superstar. He has potential. But right now that potential is unrealized. If he doesn't get his head on straight and put forth the effort, he'll be Matt Elam 2.0.

Playing for Brohm isn’t a walk in the park. Goodwin will be looking for another school next offseason. They are buttering up Vaughn, but the kid won’t last. Brohm is very old school, hard ***.
You can't help but being anything else playing for Howard Schnellenberger.

No doubt they had struggles but they started rounding into form the vandy game. They looked really good last two games. They didn't get much help from their QB and seemed to really show improvement once the come to Jesus meeting that scang simplify some things.
We scored 21 on a pretty awful vsndy D.

We scored 6 on a great UGA D but again …6 pts

UL had what four TOs. On of which we put on the three yard line and the offense proceeded to go backwards for a FG. And In that game we were setting for fg in a game that should have been a blow out

If we keep Yenser based upon Coen desire. He deserves to make that call this year. But please stop with the offense turned a corner and the Oline was not that bad down the stretch….the offense went from worst P5 offense to well below average late in year. Nothing I’d say was worth keeping guys that were part of that unit

He was a project from the get go, just a huge kid that wasn't real athletic. The Young kid was a big kid that was athletic, wrestled at a high level and had very good feet. Goodwin just looked like an interior OL. May e staff told him that and he wasn't happy, but likely someone e in his ear told him he could start, or should have been starting.
He looked athletic in his senior year of high school when he was around 330, but I'm guessing that was 70+ lbs ago.

OL cant throw and run. The OL as a unit played really well last two games. Anyone who denies that just has an agenda.

OL played well vs vandy too. We ran the ball at will second half. We couldn't stop the run and QB couldn't complete a pass. Neither of those have anything to do with the ol

So if they are blocking we’ll are saying crod didn’t run well?

You make up crap to support an argument. We scored 21 vs vandy…who gave up 50s to Tennessee and their backup Qb

Point blank. We had a terrible Oline. Why are we trying to put lipstick on this pig now?

I have no doubt that he was not ready for SEC play.

My point is, neither was at least 3 of the 5 O- lineman ready for SEC play, yet Yenser or the staff allowed them to play through their mistakes over and over again.

Do you not think KG would have improved over the year if given the same opportunity to play in games???

And please don't try to tell me how far out of shape he was. If he was in good enough shape to play on ST, he could have taken some snaps on offense.

KG or his handlers obviously felt like he was mishandled by the UK coaching staff, or he wouldn't be in the portal right now.

I will say, that anytime you have to beg a recruit to sign with you and he struggles as much as KG did in deciding between UK and Mich State, that usually doesn't end well for the school who signs them first.

Anything that doesn't go their way and they are wishing they had signed with the other school.

With the transfer portal, and knowing a couple of schools in the ear of his handlers making better offers, it is best for everyone that he just moves on.

For whatever reason. It really doesn't matter at this point.

Not really, but that's just an opinion. The You g jid from 2-3 years ago looked athletic and agile at 330, Goodwin looked sloppy and awkward at 330, if that was his weight. He looked heavier to me..

No, he looked pretty athletic at 330 in the highlight clip I saw. That said, I'd never try to evaluate any given player based on a Hudl clip alone because it only gives you a fraction of what you'd like to see. Is/was he a project? Absodamnloutely. Just like the overwhelming majority of true freshmen are, especially linemen. Even if he had come into camp in great shape, I still didn't expect him to play much because there is a steep step in competition and learning curve. Right now, Goodwin's biggest obstacle is his weight. Until he gets a handle on that, nothing else will matter.

Lol. Might want to take this message back to the basketball board with you when you leave here.
Over there crying over a 3 star that Cal won't play in Adue.

How many 5 stars does Cal sit and they stay to ride the bench??

We over here trying to get our one and only 5 star out on the field during an actual game so he WOULDN'T TRANSFER....

How hard is that for you to understand???

It's not like we were playing for a NC this year....or even the SEC championship. He!!, we didn't even compete for the SEC EAST this year.

Cal's Cats play UCLA at 5:30.
When are they going to start playing?

When you have a lifetime contract, your team doesn't have to actually win games against good teams, obviously.

Yet, somehow, we are still a basketball school. Just ask Cal.

And Mitch.
Not certain why you would associate Barnhart with Cal's basketball school comment after Barnhart spoke up against it. Not certain why it is being discussed on our football board. This is clearly a week to discuss football.

Rembrandt90 can we confirm that Louisville turned him down ?
A little hard to believe
This rumor/statement originated from the Addias employee that is bankrolling the UL recruiting class . As strange as it sounds, he actually posts on the UL sports forum. It would surprise me for them to turn down a former 5 star recruit from UK just for the optics of it . ESPECIALLY since they are making it a priority to lock down Chris Vaughn and the Aspirations Gym as a UL feeder system.

This . Pretty certain Cals “apology” was at Barnharts request/order.

Walker was the big get on defense about the same time we landed Goodwin. By mid-season, Walker was getting a majority of the snaps on the D-Line. In two years, I think it likely Walker is a high draft pick. He may be the best recruit in last year’s amazing class. The trajectory of these two big men is no longer aligned.

Getting destroyed in practice means the same thing in real games.

There is a reason he didn’t get real game time snaps outside of special teams.

Some people are clueless.
That couldn't be further from the truth. Practice is completely different than an actual game and so many people get missed because they don't produce good enough in practice. Joe Borrow obviously didn't practice the greatest and how did that work out?

That’s the rub . Evidently the kid hasn’t got the drive or discipline to stay in shape and eat right without Chris Vaughn looking over his shoulder at all times . I used to be friends with a trainer on the UK football staff and there’s only so much a team trainer can do . The kids gotta want it.

Sounds like an entitled kid who rested on his press clippings and wasn't prepared to compete. See ya.
Actually it’s not . He’s a kid with very little self discipline, low self esteem, and in need of a person to guide him . He would be in big trouble without Chris Vaughn OR someone like him .

Heard that u6 is not interested in Goodwin. We've done well with OL in the pros recently. Maybe Vaughn kicks him in the rear and he'll listen...Naz Mohammed needs to speak to this young man. A perfect example of what grit and determination will get you.
