The GOP won't splinter. For now, it is and will remain the party of Trump. He has total control over the base. Many individuals have left the GOP and more will continue to leave in the coming year or two and will not be registered with the state as such and will disassociate with the state and national party if they were part of it to begin with. But they will still mostly vote for republican candidates even if they are voting for Trumpers and many will claim they are holding their nose but it is the better of the two evils. I despise that comment. The bigger issue to the party will be the attraction to younger and more diverse individuals in order to grow. That will be very challenging.

My honest perspective on the subject which is most certainly just opinion and debatable.
