It will be the Kentucky boys who lead us back to football prominence! These young guys are just some of the great Kentucky boys playing for us. We have to keep the Kentucky boys home and support them. They bleed blue and they will get the job done. We want and love all of the out of state kids who love the "bleu" as well. But the decommits jsut don't believe or really care about UK - it's all about them! Remember to show our players we care about them and appreciate their commitment to UK - win or lose!

Go Big Blue!

UK fans know it takes more than players from the Commonwealth to be successful in football. Good thing Stoops knows too, thus the focus on Ohio.

Of course it takes more...but if you look at our last few pockets of success, it all starts with a core group of KY kids.

Couch, Lorenzen, Woodson, Peters, Pryor, Johnson, Burton, Pinner and on and on and on

A few Kentucky studs along with 4 star kids from the best football playing state in the country is the foundation that will make UK a contender in the SEC for years to come.

the state of Kentucky will never have enough high quality players to make a team relevant nationally. Our high school programs are mostly jokes compared to Ohio, Texas, and anything in the South. Relying on stars from KY will result in one good team every 10-12 years... which is pretty much where we are anyway.

I hope by "best football playing state" you don't mean Ohio - it ain't by a long long shot.

Some of Louisville's best success has also been with core KY kids mixed with a heavy dose of South Florida kids.

Brohm, Bush, Urrutia, Parker, Heyman, Shelton.

You have to have a core of guys like that...just the way it is.

Indeed they are, and some great prospects included there, and most very much underrated IMO. Elam the only one that got enough publicity, and he still has the chance to emerge as a big factor in our defense. We need him to emerge and it is very possible that he will.

So now we just want to list any KY recruit as those who will lead us to prominence? We've done that throughout our history. I understand people's feathers are ruffled with Jones' flip, but to beat our chests about our future resting on the backs of KY recruits is asinine. We need 4 and 5 star kids from out of state (along with the top KY kids we are gonna get of course) in order to improve the program.

Well Stoops is being paid handsomely to make it happen and so far he has attracted good 4-star talent from out of state and instate. Not enough by any means but good so far. Hopefully some 5-stars follow.

And yes, anyone dreaming of an SEC championship team composed mostly of KY kids is asleep at the wheel. We've tried that numerous times; didn't work.

Big Blue, you miss the point of my post. We will always be led by good Kentucky players, and yes we want the best we can get from anywhere. But what I am saying is these kids are loyal to the Big Blue - and want to be here! We should acknowledge their commitment to UK and also all the other kids - we need to let them know that they are just as important as the decommits we have had. As I said and many others - winning will solve this decommitment issue - you really can't blame the kids - what hurts is when they talk so glowingly of UK and are perceived to be leading the recruitment of others - that really hurst.

Giving a commitment means nothing in reality - look at the higher rated players we have had commit early the last 3 years - how many stayed true and how many of those were from Kentucky? Those numbers will sober everyone up very quickly.

Go Big Blue!
