I liked it, though the writers are clearly making most of these people out to be idiots.
I guess it was good drama but I hated yhe way Jon just higged goodbye to everyone and headed south. Just seemed like a bad ending to a major storyline

I liked it as well. Dany's on her own now. She's lost everyone that started with her aside from Greyworm, and he's going to be a hot mess now that he lost his lady. She's lost 2 dragons, and she's losing her mind. And lets not mention she wanted to keep screwing her nephew.

My guess. It's a pacing, arc issue. He had to move on out of Winterfell since they've only got 3 episodes left. And I would bet the show was tired of spending money on a CGI Dire Wolf that had no relevance to the plot.

I hated that everyone got left alone. Gendry, Dragon, Dany, greyworm, Brienne

My point was the opposite of that.
You think it's a misdirection play? That would be classic GoT. The real twist would be if Dany helps defeat Cersei, then says she's going back across the sea, to let Sansa rule Westeros, or sacrifices herself to save Jon/Aegon in the battle. But i don't see that happening. i still think Dany does goes bonkers. Of course, being GoT, she could do both: go bonkers, burn up Kings Landing and then sacrifice herself to save Jon/Aegon. Or . . . hell, i don't know.

the only real kick i have about last night's episode is how Euron knew to be waiting at Dragonstone at that precise moment for Dany's fleet to return, and why Dany did not see Euron's fleet while she was flying protective cover for her fleet as they approached Dragonstone? Did Tyrion sell them out?

I don't think it's a misdirection/play. I think she's literally going to lose her ****. She's lost everyone she started with, only has a single dragon, Greyworm and a much smaller army.

I think it makes perfect sense that Euron would be laying in wait. After word got out of their victory, where else would Dany return to? She thinks she's invincible with her dragons, and probably didn't give it much though. My only complaint is she's not using the dragons like she should.

I think she dies and Jon is forced to take the throne when he doesn't want to.

Dany also seems to be a little dense. She cpuld have circled behind Euron's ships and burned them out. The crossbow was mounted on the front of ships, and their sails were up.

Battle tactics against the wights and Euron were pretty lacking compared to previous battles.

Or take the high approach and dive bomb the **** out of them. They can't aim straight up.

Knowing that one of cersai's most effective forces left is Eurons navy, why even get in a boat? Why not March to River Run and operate from there. Neutraluze his navy by avoiding watet?

I think they are marching the bulk of forces down. That was just a small contingent going to DragonStone for planning purposes, I’d guess.

Exactly. It's a show. They needed to raise the stakes and even the field with limited time left.

Probably but they lost a dragon and one of the queens closest confidants so it was pretty foolish.

I think it's part of the story to show her going 'mad' and losing her mind and focus. Pretty sure those crossbows can't aim straight up and probably aren't easy to turn around (to behind). And why wasn't she flying higher to use the dragons as scouts to see what was out there?

BTW - it was more towards the shift in this thread overall than to you specifically.
No worries...I'm not going to stalk you on Facebook and display personal information on a message board.

I’d guess because they already made anchor? The screening was done? I don’t know. They needed to create a scenario where the dragon could be killed. The point, at least as I can tell is to continue to push her to what will be termed “madness”.
