This reminds me of a funny story my aunt told me years ago. She's from rural NC. She said she was talking with my dad on the phone about the latest events. A bull had gone outside it's fence and the local sheriff was called to assist. When the sheriff found the bull, he tried to lead the bull back home. The bull did not cooperate, the sheriff persisted and the bull became agitated. The bull charged the sheriff and in a moment of desperation the sheriff fired his gun. She said, "At this point, your dad turned to your mom and said, 'they're shooting the bull in NC'"
