Started with a bit of humor, then truth bombs: Well, first of all, they got a great band. We have a great band. And we’re gonna compete as a band. I’m joking right now. We understand what we’re getting into. We understand what’s gonna happen."

With all the scheduling changes in in CFB, it's really time to do away with these FCS matchups. I like one suggestion that has gone around which is to add a pre-season game where these FCS matchups could take place.

Heck, make it the spring game.

Spring game is a good idea. Pay the FCS teams to come take their whipping and the stadiums would be full.

Grambling playing Ohio State is ridiculous.

I like the pre-season idea better, something like Week 0. You don't have your full team there in spring and haven't really gone through serious preparation like fall practice.

There are enough games in the Fall now. Adding a preseason game to make a season 13 games, 14 if you go to a conference championship game and up to 17 if you make it to the playoff championship game is too many games.

Neither team would have their full team or have gone through serious preparation in the Spring but the Spring game would at least be a real game and not an open scrimmage.

The injury rate would certainly increase if the spring game were a "real" game against another opponent.

The proposals for the addition of a pre-season game have tied it to a reduction in the number of regular season games.

The Grambling coach should make a sign and stick it on their locker room so the player see as they exit, if he does this, they should be fine

If you are going to play these games anyway, what's the difference in it being baked into the regular season schedule and it being a pre-season game. The FCS team still gets paid and, in most cases, takes an L. If everyone has a victory over an inferior opponent, it seems that everyone is on the same playing field. It's much ado about nothing.

I wonder at the dollar difference for the town and school if we did that for the spring game. You could almost get another full home game every year without having to surrender any in season time games.

I think the cessation of this type of game is desirable if not inevitable.
