This is one of the first years I’ve felt dissociated from the music scene. The Grammys are still my favorite award show to watch even if I don’t know a lot of the music.

The Black Pumas just performed. Damn it was really great.

I’ve heard HAIM songs but have never seen them perform. Not too shabby.

I don’t particularly care if others “like” the music, but really appreciate these performers so far. All live performances so far.

I loved watching the Grammys in the past. But now I'm so disconnected that I don't know who anyone is. So I just hope Taylor Swift wins everything.

Let me save the next 40 posts:

Dirka dirka they don't make music like they used to, Waylon Jennings never, I like guitar, what are these robot sounds, I miss rock 'n roll, I like beards, Dusty Childers, Sturgill Simpson, I just don't get it, Taylor Swift can't sing, I hate the politics unless I agree with it, I still listen to FM radio, rock flag eagle, the Allman Brothers, does anyone remember laughter, it's past my bedtime, mmm boobies.

Kinda surprised they let Bill Burr host. I still wouldn't watch any award show for any reason (ever) but that's cool, I guess.

Now I'll go watch the Bill Burr Philadelphia Incident.

LOL, especially that last part. I visualized a drooling Homer Simpson.

I have ignored the Grammys since 1989 when Jethro Tull won the first ever award for the hard rock genre over Metallica with their And Justice for All album. The music is fine but I don't care who wins or want to hear their speeches.

Last year they had the Grammys and left me in miami sleeping on a ninja like I’m rappin’ in my jammies. I’m rappin’ when you sleep i was rappin’ when you were in jammies. Mel Gibson flow. Lethal weapon. Book ‘em, Danny

I’m a monster I tell you. Monster Wayne. And I have just swallowed the key to the house of pain. Now I’m stuck here to deal with the house’s pain. **** with me I will peel like the house’s paint. LETS GO

If we're going to play this game ....

All of the hair band songs about banging groupies, all the rap songs about bitches and hoes, all the songs about sexual encounters, etc. have not been cancelled. I believe WAP would fall in that category. Do I like it? No, but I'm not the demographic.

Baby it's Cold Outside is ostensibly about not letting a woman leave your place and maybe putting something in her drink to make her not want to leave. And it works. Personally, I think it's fun how some artists have re-defined the song and made it a little better.

Not every song is "cancelled". Outrage avoided.

The problem is, rap music takes it to a level that Rock or Country never did. Sure, "Baby it's cold outside" has some problems.. while Country and Rock music does condone drinking, sex and all that. But Hip-hop as a culture contains the selling of drugs, violence, prostitution, x-rated sexual themes, cheating, shooting cops, gun violence...

Which, personally, it has no effect on me. I know it's just music. And I LOVE Rap and Hip-hop.

But if we want to "cancel" culture that we think can spawn like-ness to it (example being Pepe showing kids it's OK to be handsy).. then what the hell do we make of the Rap Industry and the affect on black culture? How has THAT not been addressed first? Like, what's done more "damage"? NWA or the song "Baby, it's cold outside"?

I don't think that roofies were a thing in 1944 when the song was written. The woman in the song says " What's in this drink". It was common in the 1940's for women to blame certain behaviors on liquor. This according to the song's authors (a husband and wife team). It was only after SNL and South Park did skits making up a new meaning for the song did anyone think that it was cancel worthy. I am for free speech. Neither WAP or Baby it's Cold outside should be banned/cancelled IMO.

Everyone overlooks the fact Baby, It’s Cold Outside is a bad song. But I disagree with the outrage. “Don’t like? Don't listen” is my philosophy with music.

And as a child of the 80s, I came up in the era of OG (bipartisan)cancel culture of popular music. Tipper Gore and the PMRC with the full support of the Reagan and Bush I administrations.

A 2 Live Crew album was ruled obscene in Florida in 1988-89. Luckily the US Supreme Court found that ruling unconstitutional. That album later sold millions of copies. I had it memorized at age 12. Turned out relatively fine. Lol.

As for the Grammy’s I aged out of “new” music years ago but used to watch it regularly until about 2005-ish.

He’s not for everyone, but Post Malone seems like a really talented and cool guy that will probably die of an overdose.

Baby it's cold outside is bad? LOL But, why not? When some one is fake outraged about something because they have no life and take it to the "Woke" community and scare them into believing it, it has to be bad or else you will be bad. I wished this were really noteworthy because it would mean we have no other problems in this country.
