Good news indeed.

Next let's work on Hinshaw's contract. This is going too good to break up.

That's the best news I've read about the program in general for a while.
I can see Coach Gran as a 7 figure coordinator, if not next year then in a couple of years.

Hinshaw should be making Gran's money, and Gran should be making top 10 coordinator money.
It's important that you pay big bucks for coordinators. That's how you become a destination for the best play-callers.

Sounds good for next year... but someone will snag him up .. especially if we put it all together next year.

I just hope we have to worry about it. And than hinshaw stays put as offensive coordinator when that happens.

I remember like it was yesterday when we hired him, and Cincinnati fans were saying "Yeah, that's fine, he's a recruiter, not very good at calling plays", then look at our season, and Cincinnati's season.
Makes ya chuckle a bit.

He should be now. Keep him here until a P5 school comes calling with a HC offer.

Liked that Gran said he was glad stoops talked to him before the UL game, anyone could have talked after.

Every day brings good news. Stability is important when you have a solid staff and you are building a winning program. Coach Gram is more than a valuable part of our future. He is a game changer

Great news, it will be nice having a productive OC for a few seasons. The offense should really be rolling next season with our players not needing to learn new play books during the off season. All they will have to work on is execution and adding new wrinkles to the playbook. The offense should look much more fluid next season.

UK will not lose these two because of money. If either or both really want to be a HC they will go. If Hinshaw wants to be the main man (main coordinator) and it's the right program will be tough to keep him. I have no clue what either aspires to, but for now will enjoy the ride while they are at UK.

Very glad to read! I recall just days after coach Gran took UK job he went right after Stephen Johnson! Think about it!
I have several times,I know we were short on QB's but he saw the need very quickly and found the best one he could for sure get.A lot of thought, understanding and action in a short time on his part, are you surprised he had that much leeway that quickly?

To be honest...best recruiting news of the offseason (even moreso than Pashcal).

This season was 90% about our rushing offense and the last game we put up some legit passing offense to go along with the run game was the reason why we sit at 7-5. Defense had its moments in the USC/Vandy middle of season...but that unit blew chunks the last few games as usual.

We truly have to lock up Gran/Hinshaw/Marrow as the core of Stoop's success as long as we can. I'd personally go a different direction on defensive side of ball (which I don't expect to happen).

I hope all our present coaches remain with us for at least another couple of years. That would help to get the program on very solid footing. The coaches are doing a great job recruiting, and if we can get a couple more like this year, we should have the base for several years of good football. Next year should be a good year, at least a 8-5, and hopefully a 9-4 or better. However, the following year will be a little tougher, but with all the RS's we have, and more underclassmen getting playing time, we should still be good.

Great to hear the good news about Eddie Gran, he did a superb job. UK to it's credit, has certainly done right by Gran, raising his salary from the $370,000 he made at Cincinnati last season to $650,000 this year. Quite a sizable raise, and money well spent IMO.
Now I believe the UK powers that be will boost his salary a good deal more, taking care of the future.

I'll nit pick this. Gran tasked Hinshaw to find a QB & DH sorted thru the possibilities (~25) & reco'd Smith to Gran.
