Todd has been assigned criticism after every stop ……. UGA, UL, MSU and most recently UF; yet he is still coveted as one of the very best defensive coaches in college football.
Saban does not make many mistakes; this is just another endorsement for Grantham.

It’s a tough business and not for the thin skinned. That said, while no one that understands football has ever legitimately questioned Grantham’s ability, there are legitimate questions about whether or not his complex scheme can be effective year after year at the collegiate level with the limited practice hours per week.
I liked Grantham and thought that petrino dumping him - particularly in light of the idiots that he replaced him with - was a mistake. That said, every Grantham defense - regardless of school - was always characterized by players looking around trying to figure out where they were supposed to be as the ball was being snapped.
This appointment is not a huge endorsement for his skills at actually coordinating a defense: He accepted an analyst position, not actually coaching Alabama’s defense.
He should probably be a very good analyst.

They were also characterized by being very good in year 1, and regressing ever year from there. I have tried to reconcile that to the "his defense is too complicated & hard to learn" with that.
