The Dems really, really blew this one. Now Trump can name a very strong conservative and the Dems are out of bullets. Even if it's Kennedy that retires, it swings the court dramatically to the right and back to the Constitution. The Dems would have been far smarter to let Gorsuch get a vote and wait on Trump's second choice to filibuster (Gorsuch was so vanilla he was very hard to paint as ou to the mainstream). There is likely not another Gorsuch out there, so the next one would likely give the Dems more ammunition and maybe they pick off 3 GOP Senators in their filibuster. Now, with the filibuster off the table, all the GOP has to do is convince Susan Collins and Murkowski that the nominee is solid and he or she goes to the Bench.
