When you talk to him again, please tell him I said hello and I hope all is well.

If you feel you can send me your e-mail I will give you his name and you can request a face book friend. Make sure you let him know who you are. I know there are several of us that are friends. Let me know in your-mail who you are I can request a fb friend. OFC

I’m not on FB. The extent of my social media use begins and ends with DI.

I have no problem giving you my email though. I don’t want to post it on here though due to RR and THR lurkers. I’ll get it to you through ODD. I think he has both our emails.

I was very dissapoited by Graysons latest temper trantums and to say he has emotional problems is like saying fire is hot but it should have nipped in the bud when K only suspended him for 1 game. That was a bad look for both Coach K and Grayson. At the time when he only got a one game suspension we were all so happy that he would only miss one game but looking back common sense will tell you it should have been much longer. I think K did a disservice to the Duke Program but especially Grayson.

Missing more games would not have made a real difference. When a person is ready to deal with stuff like this, they do it, often with the help of professionals. I don’t think one game or three games wouldn’t have changed anything.

You're right but I said at the time also just one game wasn't a good look for K or duke.....and I got hammered for it...I still stick to it

Fair enough Show. You have been really tough on him when he has made mistakes...I think most of us are a lot tougher on our own players than most other fanbases due to our higher standards and expectations off the court. Higher standards are fair and, in my opinion, come with the Duke territory. But, sometimes I think we tend to overreact to stuff our guys do because we are personally embarrassed. I liken it to some of my overreactions to my son's behavior during Little League. Because I was the coach, I overreacted to some of his behavior because I expected/demanded better behavior from him. I really regret that I put some of my shxt on him. I think that is what we do to Grayson.

I don't think you remember it correctly. There were a lot of us who were surprised that "indefinitely" ended up being one game, and then we moved on to trusting K's decision. It didn't happen again in his time at Duke, so what grounds do you have to say it was insufficient?

(Aside: Why don't you capitalize "Duke"?)
Wasn't a good look according to whom? UNC fans? Talking heads?
If you meant that it gave critics an opening, okay, but I question whether that's really all you said and that that is why you got hammered for it.

Dakich is Colin Cowherd wannabe. I enjoy ESPN talk-heads ripping Grayson b/c that company has a great track record of behavior in their 20's(Rose, J-Will, Tirico, Berman, McHenry, Salisbury etc...

Recall Mark May on ESPN demanding Jameis Winston be kicked out of FSU only to find out May was arrested multiple times in his 20's.

Hypocrisy at ESPN is laughable.

Just retired from 31 yrs working in a school. One quote from K trump's all. Basically said my responsibility is to that kid and that family. Period. Some jackasses opinion on ESPN-whose main concern is ratings salary-wholly self centered and so be it-should have less than nothing to do with K's response. And, as concerned as we may be with the "health" of the program, we should be of no concern to K either.

In my career, my responsibility was for the welfare of my students, their families, my school, and then the community. In 31 yrs is special ed, it wasnt always pretty.

Congrats on retiring! I'm getting to the point of counting my sick days, calculating their worth...

The way some people talk about Grayson reminds me of how so many non-educators offer their angry 2 cents all the time advising some thoughtless, unethical course of action serving no purpose but their own satisfaction.

I gave Grayson a pretty hard time on a couple of my post here on this thread and I was wrong. I've watched the replay a few times and what he done is just basketball. The 1st incident was just the fact he was tangled up with Williams. Williams had his arm wrapped around Grayson and Grayson did what any NBA player would have done by trying to free himself. The fact Williams went to the floor made it look worse. The second incident to me was just physical contact. The game has become so physical. Williams himself has even said it wasn't that big of a deal and it's just basketball.Another thing is Dackich and others from ESPN seem to over do it. Dackich without a doubt hates Duke and has a past history of his feelings towards Duke. Very unprofessional . He should have lost his job a long time ago. Unfortunately for Grayson he's a marked man and I don't know what he can do about it other than just keep working hard and be a great team mate. The players and coaches will see that and that's all that matters. I understand the tripping incidents that happened at Duke were all on him. If I could apologize to Grayson I would but just letting everyone know I got learned into over reacting . I certainly hope he has an outstanding career and ends up being a great player and win a ring or two. OFC

Just wondering. Are educators/teachers incapable of engaging in that type of conduct?

Well that's your opinion and I have mine. 1 game IMO wasn't enough for multiple incidents...but you don't have to agree with me...don't matter to me either way

Devil, of course we do. And it is a mistake to do so. That was my point about K. He did not make that mistake tha t so many insisted he should. And, after the fact, many others could not, would not recognize where Ks work truly resided. Some just missed the point, likely because they are not educators, others because of blatant bias/hatred.

I just glanced at a few posts in this long thread, so I'll not make any comments on other posters opinions, but I didn't see anything in those vids of Grayson that showed Grayson as #BadManBlue. Grayson has made some mistakes, but many people (especially media) continue to overreact to every little play that involves contact (which is almost every play in basketball).

Yes, Grayson had a bad night, but Dakich is the real loser here. He made a complete fool of himself.
