Mac Mclung, drop 65 in high school playoff game. Plus he has more game than Greedy had coming out of hs. My dog has that UFC face lol.

This kid goes to a high school near me. He's pretty good but he's not on Grayson's level. He's not being recruited by any big time schools I don't think.

Ok I just researched him some.. when I saw the video I thought he looked like a kid that would play in high school around me and low and behold he's from gate city VA so basically the same caliber kid. He looks ok but he's not Duke level by any stretch. ETSU is his best offer so far

Grayson is greedy lol. He earned that name his soph yr, as he was all we had and he played pretty selfish(we needed it). He did drive and kick more towards the end of that year.

Grayson could not dribble better than or have more skill than Mac coming out of HS, he could shoot it better coming out. Mac is only 6'1 and is just as high as Grayson was coming out of HS. Grayson may not be able to dribble better than Mac now (His handle is part of the reason he has to comeback). LOL, I guarantee you Mac ends up at a power conf school. I know he could play for Boston College right now! lololol

It's been a while since I've been in school Mr. Swervin, but I appreciate your kind words about me. I don't know if it's a compliment though to say I could play at BC, and last time I checked I was about 5'10

I watched a guy his senior year 6'4 and avg 30 and break the NC record for most games with 40 or more points in a season... beat I've ever watched locally that wasn't a transport like at Christ school. Played college ball at a D-2 school in Savannah Ga and would whoop this kid. Heck my high school has had D-2 and D-1 talent that looks that good

Oh man...Not Vanlandingham...I hated that guy. I mean not really of course, but coaching against him was so frustrating. I would argue he wasn't quite 6'4 but yeah that dude could play. In my time up there I would still put him behind Robinson and Simmons.

Maybe not 6'4 lol that was what they said.. Simmons maybe but it's so hard to compare guards and post guys to me lol but I'd put whitson, Elliot, and tony all ahead of Jake but I watched them every game too m.. he was just huge and could stroke it so that made him more valuable but elliot was a freak and whit was just undersized to go D-1

Yeah all those guys could ball. Fortunately I just missed coaching vs. Elliot. And of course I am a little more fond of Robinson because he ended up having a good career at WCU. I did see the title team play Cummings so I saw their best year, then I started coaching the next year when they lost to Shelby in the sectionals. And of course I am partial to Simmons and Hunt, those are my guys. Seems like it was a little down up there this year.

Yeah it's been down for a couple years. It's depressing really. The girls basketball teams have picked it up though but it's not the same. That Shelby game was probably the most depressed I've ever been after a game

I've seen him play a few times and he isn't D1 so no thanks

I'm seen him play several times as well, including the regional semi when he had 64 (in a losing effort strangely enough). He is a good player, and he can really get up. I think he is a D1 player, just not at Duke's level. Whoever said Big South is accurate I think.

True...guess when I think D1 I think P5 conferences and others...surely not Radford and liberty but they are D1 LOL

He could play for Northwestern(if he had grades), Penn State, Pitt, Clemson, NC State, GA Tech, BC, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech, TCU, Arizona State (Bobby would be lucky to get him on that squad lol), Colorado, Washington St, and Utah. Probably some others...

IMO doubtful

Yeah he could be on any of those teams but I seriously doubt he would ever see the floor...then he probably transfers to a lower level D1 or lower for playing time

I never said he was better, I said his ball handling is better than Grayson's was coming out of HS and might be better now. Still has another year to develop. Stop the hate on my mans.

Well you did say he had more game than Allen coming out of HS. By comparison at this point Allen had committed to Duke and Mclung is nowhere near being a Duke level recruit, let alone close to Grayson Allen's level.

Not to mention he has to be at least 4 or maybe 5 inches shorter than Grayson Allen. He reminds me of Lee Humphrey from the Florida championship years.

He is low D1 player at best. Grayson when healthy is late first round NBA pick. The only thing they have in common is that they are both white.

His father is commonwealth attorney and Mac has a 4.0 grade point average. I have watched him several games this year. He will play division 1 somewhere. Va. Tech is now recruiting him plus several mid majors. He will be a senior this year. His sister is a fantastic soccer player at the University of Tn. and is on the Olympic Development team.

I thought Virginia Tech was major D1. Maybe I missed something.

They are but let's see where he ends up...and if he ends up there let's see if he ever gets on the floor

By the way my VT connection laughed when I told him someone said they were after him

I am a next door neighbor and if Va. Tech is not interested in him then his father is lying. I don't believe he has a reason to lie. You might want to get a new connection at VT.

I heard some rumblings during the state tournament last year that he was considering transferring to a private, like Oak Hill. I don't know if that is accurate, but if he really wants to be high D1 that is definitely the best move for him.

We will see....not saying anyone is lying to you but I know what I was told...and my guy is pretty well I'm the basketball program at VT

We will see if he gets offered or just being "looked at"
