Agreed. Bought a growler of that a couple weeks ago after sampling it at Liquor Barn and it didn't last a day. It's awesome.Originally posted by Kooky Kats:
Founders Dark Penance is excellent.
Black IPA, hoppy & portery.
Must try. 5*.

On my list. Heard nothing but good things about this particular brew.Originally posted by scotmcieku18:
Has anyone tried Founders Backwoods Bastard? I've been tempted to pick up some the last few trips I've made to Liquor Barn. Also, what does a man have to do to get a six pack of Three Floyds Alpha King or Zombie Dust in Lexington?

You pretty much can't go wrong with anything from Green Flash.Originally posted by jcrow10:
Picked up some Green Bullet today, a triple IPA from Green Flash - definitely recommend.

Anheuser-Busch opens the pocketbook and buys 10 Barrel Brewing of Oregon. Going forward, I personally believe we'll witness more Big Beer purchases of craft.

Interesting. No wonder AB-InBev is snapping up craft beer brewers.. . . .There may be a greater obstacle than marketing for Budweiser to regain growth, however: taste. After all, the brand has an advertising budget in the range of $500 million. If young people aren't drinking it, it isn't because they haven't heard of it. According to Beer Advocate, in a crowd-sourced survey Budweiser rated a 57, or "awful," on a scale of 1 to 100. Historically, Budweiser's strength was never its taste though. Its success owes instead to clever marketing. Early on, the beer was never a favorite among local St. Louis drinkers, but became the first national brand as founder Adolphus Busch was the first to pasteurize, use refrigerated rail cars, and bottle on a large scale. He also plied bars into serving it by helping to pay licensing fees and rents.....
going to world of beers ina bit. They got several imperial stouts that I'm gonna drink.Originally posted by AustinTXCat:
Tried Lagunitas Brown Shugga on January 3rd and gave it 4/5 stars. Very interesting, indeed.
Enjoy, bro! World of Beer is finally coming here to Austin. You guys in CFL have had WOB outlets for a few years now.Originally posted by Willy4UK:

Expect more Big-beer assimilation going forward.Anheuser-Busch InBev continues to get craftier.
The brewing conglomerate is purchasing Seattle-based Elysian Brewing Company for an undisclosed amount. Founded in 1995, Elysian sold more than 50,000 barrels of beer in 2014.
Drank a bottle of SN Hop Hunter the night our Cats blew out WVa. Actually quite good, but also a bit over-hopped for my tastes.Originally posted by weused2luvhim2:
I had some some Sierra Nevada Hop hunter this weekend. Very good kind of low abv at 6.2 I think.
I like SN but their Bigfoot Barleywine is eye opener.Originally posted by AustinTXCat:

To bad they do not distribute Yuengling in KY. For the price it's pretty good beer.
Sierra Nevada Brewing really does make good brew across the flavor profile not just one or two like some.Originally posted by AustinTXCat:

Unfortunately, no Yuengling beer distribution here in Texas. Drank some on draft last year at a bar near New Smyrna Beach, FL ($1.25/glass) and again while visiting relatives in east TN. Decent brew.
