Great gift from a student...

So, I think some of you know that I am an elementary school teacher.

The end of the year is here, and some kids have started giving me end-of-year gifts.

My class this year has a group of athletic boys in it who are all big Duke fans. One of them got me this.

I've gotten a few memorable gifts over the years... a kid in my first class (who is now 24 and touring the country in a band) got me a Duke Santa hat I wear every Christmas day... a kid got me a Duke basketball... and maybe 12 years ago one of my special ed kids gave me a spatula with no tag or anything on it... just a spatula that I am pretty sure he took out of his kitchen... which I still use to this very day.

When I was a youngin’ my mom would buy some perfume and force me to give it to my teacher. Can’t imagine giving a full blown jersey, that’s really cool.

Dude, thats an awesome gift! They must really think the world of you and have immense respect as well! Its wonderful we have educators who are role models.
