You may not have to deal with Christianity much longer!

"Christians" (however that is defined) and followers of Christ are likely going to be imprisoned or murdered for their faith (cough, cough). It's a way of life for a large swath of civilization and it will get far worse before it gets better. Great news for you guys!

Sure, you may still have to put up with Islam, but it's pretty much a given that Christianity doesn't have much longer. Now if you can only get rid of the Muslims. Much tougher task.

Woe to the poor oppressed Christians

And ISIS just loves atheists, don't they? On second thought, no, the one thing ISIS and Christians can agree on is that atheists are bad. It's nice that atheists can do the service of bringing together the Christians and ISIS.

I'm glad they are being slaughtered.

They come up on your porch and all while you're eating dinner, have those goofy Jesus fish emblems, and get tax breaks.

Not as sexy as stonings, beheadings, burnings, shootings, and crucifixions, but certainly every bit as bad.

Reminds me of a joke

Brazilian.

George Bush is told that 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed in Iraq. He gets very sad and asks "how many is a brazillion"

Don't forget the Crusades!

Well, at least remember HALF of the story (the half that is especially incriminating) and hey, how about those witch trials? Hmmm? Hmmm?

Not the crunchiest chip in the bag, was he?

This country will have endured the gut punch of all-time ....... 16 years of two of the worst Presidents in history.

The silver lining?

It shows it does not have to do with which political party you belong to or the color of your skin.

Once again, the only party I will ever vote for again is a pizza party.

opie is a frustrated atheistic intellectual elitist....

He's frustrated because while he's got the atheism down the intellectual elitism continues to escape him.

It's hilarious to watch men, enslaved by hubris, claim to KNOW things.

Just bouncing from one galaxy to the next would take you thousands of years if going 186,000 miles per second. Some of the galaxies would require millions of years at speeds even greater and rest assured the boundaries are non-existent, bowing to infinity even though man cannot prove that and likely does not even want to acknowledge the concept of infinity.

Hell, down here we're still working on moon landings ........... which is like a father teaching his 5-year old how to make a lay-up.

There's that. Then there's the fact that Wolf just cast the bait and opie took it--hook, line, sinker.

And how do you know whether I was thoughtful or not?

I wasn't only thoughtful, I was too thoughtful. Still am.

You guys just don't like the results of my thoughts.

I was Christian for a long time but I wasn't doing much thinking (about religion) most of that time.

Do some thinking. Religions pop up all over the place. Humans have a new for security and to know The Answer. Religions fulfill that need. Religions almost invariably contain biases of the place and time they arise. They claim their Holy Books are perfect, which is quite shaky on the surface and then downright ridiculous when centuries pass and some of the stuff in the books begins to look extremely silly. Arabic as spoken in the 7th century is the perfect language? Yeah, right.

So we all have eternal souls and where our soul will spend ETERNITY depends on what we do in our 80 years on earth? Really? And what about all those people who lived in the thousands of years before the religion began?

And isn't it odd that there are so many religions? Even if there was only One True Religion it would mean that all the rest are man made, which means humans have a propensity to make up religions. If humans have a propensity to make up religions then isn't is possible for them to make up all of them instead of all but one of them?

Why would an omnipotent God have one religion be the one He wants and yet make it be so hard to figure out which was the right one? If you're God and you're going to have Jesus in the Middle East in 30 AD doing his thing why not simultaneous put a Jesus-type figure in North America and South America and Asia and Africa, etc, and have similar Holy Books drawn up and then when those people travel and meet they'll see it's the same everywhere and that'll be a sign to them that it's right? Or something like that?

I don't doubt it's possible for there to be some higher power and you gotta figure that somewhere in the Universe there is something greater than humans doncha think it's possible that all these religions we see on Earth are just, you know, made up by people?

Re: "I don't doubt it's possible for there to be some higher power."

You're getting into haggling over word definitions. Some people would call me an agnostic and some people, Penn Jillette included would call me an atheist. It's semantics.

Even hard core atheist Richard Dawkins sensibly says he can't be sure there isn't a God.

I actually liked an array of Richard Dawkin's quotes.

Most notably, "Science flies men into space. Religion flies men into buildings.", which was my personal favorite of his ......... and one I agree with as I am not particularly fond of religion myself.

Luckily, Jesus' propitiation was never about religion ........ something that the two extremes (secularists on one pole and dogmatic zealots on the other) are going to find out all too well.

How AWESOME would that be!!

You walk through the Pearly Gates past St. Peter.......

All the sudden, Jesus comes at you out of nowhere delivering a wicked left then a right hook.
As you stagger back, he charges delivering a perfect round house kick to the head knocking you to the cloudy ground!!!

Then he helps you up....dusts you off and hands you tickets to the Morrison/Elvis show that starts in an hour.

YOU are calling someone else a rube?!?

You have been in lock step with this fvcking moron in the White House for 6 years. You have not had a problem with a single thing he has done. THAT is a rube. You are either depending heavily on entitlements (which is my personal opinion) or are just too stupid to have an original thought.
