Wish there was room on the poll for Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Evil Dead trilogies, George Romero's Dead movies, and some others.

You can pick up to three on the poll.

The Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, or LotR movies get my vote.

LOTR or the Dark knight. Indy is close; I actually like Temple of Doom. Godfather is close but 3 was horrible. Ditto Spider man.

I went with Sergio Leone, but I think his other trilogy was better. That would include Once Upon a Time in the West, Duck, You Sucker (aka Once Upon a Time…the Revolution & A Fistful of Dynamite) & Once Upon a Time in America. The first two are excellent & the last is underrated. And yes, Duck, You Sucker was released under three different titles.

Lots of good ones on that list but LOTR is the only one that didn't have a hiccup or less than great installment. Each movie worked perfectly to further the story along to the end.
I really liked the first two. Hated Return of the King.

The Before Trilogy by Richard Linklater is perfect.
Not that third one. First two, yeah. The third one was so depressing and destroyed everything we liked about the characters. Hawke and Delpy put too much of their own divorces into the characters, imo.

Yep. Godfather 3 bumped that series out of first place. I didn't realize the original Star Wars trilogy had 3 different directors.

The first 45 minutes were great. The last 2 hours of the hobbits humping everyone and Frodo getting on the boat and crying seemed excessive.

The ending was a bit long. I used to watch the extended editions a lot though so I'm a glutton for that lol.

Oh I loved it. That was just the first time I can remember being at a movie and just wanting to go "alright we're good here, just go ahead and shut it off"

Man.. not a fan of a lot of these movies lol. I'll accept the hate.. but asides from LOTR and Batman (along with early Godfather and Matrix installments).. most of this is throw-away for me.

I don't care if it's not qualifying, I'll take:

Ridley Scotts Alien
James Cameron's Aliens
and David Fincher's Alien III.. as the best trilogy ever. Sorry not sorry.

The Bourne franchise could’ve easily been among the greatest trilogies and then they got greedy and made one with Jeremy Renner and then another one with Damon that I never bothered to watch.

Alien 3 was the most disappointing theater going experience of my life. I watched it again recently and was surprised to find...yeah it still sucks.

YOu forgot the Before trilogy by Richard Linklater. Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, and Before Midnight. The rare trilogy where it gets better with every movie. That is my vote.

Alien 3 was hot garbage. Ripley did not deserve that ending.

Obviously the weakest entry (until everything that came after it.).. The CGI is bad.. But I find it to be pretty solid. The acting is pretty great, with solid performances from Charles Dance and Charles Dutton.. and even a small role for Pete Postlethwaite. Good premise, very dark.

I think the CGI, the production issues, and trying to follow up the 1st and 2nd movies, was just too much. Maybe it shouldn't have been an "Alien" movie.. but on it's own, I really liked it.

Alien 3's premise is my least favorite part of the film. Aside from it not treading any new ground like Aliens does, it disrespects Ripley's fans (starting with its very opening scenes) by completely nuking her damn well-deserved and extremely satisfying full-circle happy (as it can be) ending at the conclusion of Aliens.

If Alien 3 ended with Ripley waking up safely after her journey home from Hadley's Hope, thus revealing the events of Alien 3 to have all been a stasis-induced dream, I think Alien 3 might've been remembered as a masterpiece. Regardless, it would've made the film memorable (and notably different from the first film, continuing the variation that James Cameron accomplished by transitioning a horror/suspense premise into a horror/action premise).

I agree that it's a cool movie on its own, though. If its protagonist wasn't RIpley, it would be much, much better movie.

Not a trilogy but has any director been less appreciated than Bob Clark after creating three.classics like "Black Christmas", " Porkys", and "A Christmas Story".

That’s a list with a lot of **** in it. I walked out of the movie theatre with about an hour to go in LotR. I mean good lord with that one. Would have to say the Dark Knight trilogy by a mile out of those.

People **** on the last one but I thought Nolan’s trilogy got better with every film. I liked The Dark Knight Rises better than the Dark Knight.

It also ruined any other superhero or comic book movie for me as they’re all **** in comparison.

Actually I liked the dark knight rises better as well. For some reason everyone creams there pants to the dark knight but rises I’ve always considered much more watchable and compelling.

Can we go Alien: Covenant, Alien, Aliens? Much better that way. Agreed on Dark Knight. Pretty interesting how every trilogy has at least one dog in the mix.

Prometheus was awful. That big engineer guy made me laugh whenever he was onscreen he was so goofy.
