Let me know when Green grows 3 inches and can see over the line. If he can't beat out Doege then he's not that good. You don't know football.
You can make a fool of yourself all you want, but I'd rather you not, honestly. This isnt the NFL. Greene has performed well every time he's had a chance, every time. Doege blows it every game.

Come into to run the ball. Eventually they start stopping it. Can he pass? Sure give him a shot and when he gets his *** kicked you will understand why Doege is playing.
I’d rather go down swinging with Greene. If we would have let him play the entire LIU game (instead of barely playing against a glorified intramural team) they could have had him ready to start by now.

Did you not see the video of Green dropping dimes into the back of the endzone from 60 yards? Greene oo the passes Neal has allowed to him, has s 75% completion % ad an 85 qbr, not too mention averaging 7 yards per carry. Greene has earned more playing time and passes, big time. Doege has a 58.1 qbr and is averaging -4 yards per carry. Yes, negative 4 yards pc.

Leddie also runs much better when Greene is in the game, which adds another element.
Oh my God he's a Heisman champion. We should have played him last year we would be working on back to back NCAA championships.

Just like you're not a Doege fan I'm not a Greene fan. You'll just have to live with it. I don't like Doege either but if we are going to toss a season away with Greene or Doege let's just put in the freshman Will Crowder.

You are entitled to your opinion, just seems like a strange opinion considering how much we already know and have seen of Doege, and how well Greene has performed every time he's been given the chance.

It was amazing seeing WVU make a second half drive and actually get in the red zone, even though we had to settle for a FG. Greene led a beautiful drive. Too bad Doege missed a granny pass and was in the game at all on that drive. It's almost as if he came in just to end it on another signature badly overthrown pass.

He runs the ball that's it. How long do you think that works after they figure it out? I'll tell you not long. I'll take Crowder you can have Greene.

IN all fairness, his height should not be a major factor for a quality OC staff, and I believe between Brown, Parker, & Kirk we have a good staff. I mean, Kyler murray, Russel Wilson, etc etc...

I also dont think Greene's arm talent is the issue. Like NB said in a presser, he didnt play 7vs7, and his HS OC was run heavy, so his ability to read defenses is his only limitation at the moment. Im sure there are things the staff can do to help mitigate, once hes given enough live reps to become comfortable.

Which I think is the plan.... To slowly introduce him in a way that helps now & builds for future.

That's because he hasn't had to throw the ball, and he has messed up several times running the ball

That's not his fault. The passes he has been allowed to throw have been good. He just needs more of them. Greene has a cannon of an arm, by the way. Way bigger arm than Doege. I dont know if a lot of people realize that, but it's true. Neal needs to let Greene run the damn offense. Both run and pass, and open it up. He's a weapon, and open its up for Leddie in a big way. It's very noticeable.

Greene has a big arm. Do some research. Also, he's averaging 7 yards per carry running. Doege is averaging -4. That is an 11 yard difference per carry because Doege has terrible pocket presence. Greene just needs more reps and to be given the Greene light to throw, pun intended. He will be fine. Doege is having the worst year of his career big time. Greene was a 4 star duel threat on some outlets.

He hasn't shown that "big" arm. Neal sees that everyday in practice. He knows Crowder and Nicco are the future which is next year.

Crowder is a career backup. Nicco is the future. Greene should be the right now, and he really does have a big arm. That should be common knowledge for WVU fans. Green will transfer after this season though, or at least I would if I were him. He should be starting somewhere right now.

Once he plays more he will be stopped and will not be able to create. Teams will keep him in the pocket because they know he can't see over top the line.

I wish he would play him and see when he screws up how much bitching you do about it.

Big arm, yeah ok. Elite 11 of just throwing doesn't prove that. Going against live D1 defensive players does.
And if Crowder came in at the same time as Greene, Crowder would be playing now.

Green has looked great against D1 players. He marched our offense dwn th field today in the best second half drive we've had all season only to have Daygay miss a pass you could make. Crowder is Powder dude. He will sit behind Nicco. He's another Millard. Green will move on and have a good career somewhere else. Daygay will be a 50th year senior next year but hopefully not here. I think Neal has some kind of mental block over Doege. That dude is holding this offense back.

Greene looks lost at times because he HASN'T GOTTEN ENOUGH GAME TIME!

If the less educated need some perspective, feel free to watch Pat White passing at any time during the entire 2005 season. He looked terrible. Would anyone in their right mind argue that his 2005 season wasn't an unqualified success?

Greene looks more comfortable passing than Pat did. He isn't the runner Pat was even then, but Pat was a winner and this kid looks like one too.

Skyler Howard couldn't see over the line either and he was once the best WVU could muster for 2 seasons. Note this is not an endorsement of Howard, just pointing out a guy can be physically less optimal for a position, but still be the best guy available for it. Not saying Greene is the guy, but his height deficiency alone doesn't preclude him from being the guy.

Skylar had better body build than Greene. Skylar also probably had a better offensive line.

Greene is a lot like Skylar except with much a higher ceiling. Either are better than Doege. Kendall is better than Doege. Hell I would say Crowder is better than Doege. I would rather watch a rookie make his rookie mistakes while he develops into a better QB than a super senior who has gotten worse every year of his career make rookie mistakes while he farts a potentially good season away.

You dont get an Elite 11 invitation by just having quick feet. Greene has a quality arm, he just has to develop & learn how to read defenses. That will come with time.

I havent seen enough of Crowder to really have an opinion, tho I did like his HS film.

Either way, between Greene, Crowder, & Nicco I do believe QB wont be our problem after this year... That said, it'll still take whomever time to find their rhythm & familiarization with the speed of game. Certainly reasons to be optimistic that Brown is building this the right way that helps nurture long-term consistency.

1 of those 3 will transfer if they don't get the starting nod. Greene has been there 2 years he should know it by now.

With Nicco coming in I expect Greene to transfer. There are plenty of schools out there looking for the style of QB Greene is. Neal Brown seems to rather want more of a pocket passer, but I think he will get a little of both with Nicco, and from what I can tell Nicco looks to be the best QB recruit we've landed in a long time. I'm hoping he pans out and is the real future for the next 4 years or so.

I havent seen enough of Crowder either but I wouldnt complain to see more. My biggest issue is having a 5th year senior who has regressed every year he's played and is literally losing games with his consistent mistakes. I'd rather have an average season, or even bad season while letting the young guys develop than watch Doege give us the same results and the young guys get nothing out of it. Thats just my personal opinion. I know some folks on here that really burns them up emotionally lol.

I agree whole heartedly. If the difference between Doege and the young guys were big like say 9 wins vs 5 wins, then Doege is a no brainer. If it's a smaller margin, but higher wins like say 10 wins vs 9 wins, then Doege is still the choice. However if the difference is 6 wins vs 4-5 wins, well in that case the value of those reps for the youngsters outweigh the underwhelming "better" season in my opinion. Hence why I'm not arguing that Greene or Crowder will play better, although that could be the case given some players exceed their practice performance in game situations. I'm arguing that the experience for young players at the cost of struggling to a .500 season with a 5th year senior is worth the trade.

Perfectly stated. I feel very similar, although the little Ive seen from Greene, I already think he's a better option right now just because of intangibles alone.

Honestly I was pumped about Doege heading into the Maryland game because Neal touted him as the most improved player in the offseason. But after watching him post a whopping 40something QB rating and throw the game away in one of the worst games of his career, I was pretty much over it. Doege doesnt look improved, but rather he looks like he regressed again like he has each year of his career. The stats dont lie. It just is what it is. I dont mind playing for the future. If we are going to have an average or below average season with Doege, we may as well let the young guys develop.

Im not bailing ever on the Mountaineers. I just want what is best for the team. Truth is, none of us would be on this message board if we didnt love WVU sports, you and I included. So lets set aside our differences and cheer on the team.

I agree with you, but my comment was in response to the bell tolls
