Hey, what's the story behind the black and gold unis? I realize it's an awesome color combination, but I have no clue why you're wearing them.

They are called the "gothic" jerseys and was a design originally created by UA for the football team. The design is meant to reflect the essence of some of the gothic architectural style of the NU campus and the unique font for these jerseys is that used in the iconic front gate for NU.

All of the signs on campus are black with gold gothic letters....

Also. Go back many years and NU records show the school colors as black and gold before purple and white
