Thanks man. Petras is starting but they both suck. If we had an average QB, we would have a good shot. We have wasted two really good defenses because we can't find a QB. Last year and this year.

We sure can relate to having a QB problem.Last year we had Ramsey,in 2019 and this year it was pretty much a train wreck. This year our D was as bad as our offense.Fitz and company are hard at work to rectify the problems to get us back on top in the BIG TEN West CONF.

While less than ideal, to my eyes Petras seems a little streaky. If he gets hot and doesn’t turn it over, I think the Hawkeyes have a real shot to win this one. The defense should be able to slow down the Michigan ground attack enough to keep it close. I could easily see a 17-14 type of game.

Best of luck tomorrow.

I hope your right. Football can be an ugly game at times, but getting the win is the only thing that matters.

I will take a win in a rock fight, all day long. Style points are for Big 12 teams

Rooting for Iowa to play spoiler. It's not like going to the Rose Bowl 6 years ago started an enduring stretch atop the division. I mainly want the inequity of Michigan having to play a CCG at 11-1, as opposed to ND not having to, to drive Michigan and fans everywhere nuts. The idea of independent teams in a playoff sport is the stupidest thing imaginable. There hasn't been an independent D1 men's basketball team in 7 years. Phillips needs to be whipping votes to foreclose independent access to the playoff for the sake of his conference.

Watching the game tonight with some Hawkeye fans here in Des Moines. It’s a rare day when I say it, but why not? Go Hawkeyes.

Well Iowa couldn’t afford to come up with zilch on 2 drives where they had a guy wide open in the end zone and then were wel inside the 10. If you get TDs on both those it’s a 4 point game.

Looks like it’s about to be 35-3.

Did anyone see that beautifully executed flea flicker that UM just ran for big yards after setting it up with a run to the left in the same formation on the prior play, while up 28-3?

That’s called a killer instinct. Harbaugh just broke Iowa’s spirit. Maybe they have a shot versus Georgia after all.

The BIG West is archaic and the game has passed many of these teams by.

Iowa isn't much of a BIG West champ. They are getting crushed! Their fabulous defense now has surrendered 35 points.

I hate seeing Michigan succeed, but if it's at the expense of preventing Notre Dame from getting into the playoff, it was worth it.

It’s not just that.

In the last two weeks, Michigan has kept ND out of the playoffs. They beat the Ohio death star soundly. And they just crushed our rivals to the West to keep them out of the Rose Bowl. The victor over our enemies is our friend, no?

Michigan had a great season and Harbaugh coached the heck out of them after having his contract restructured and making major changes. Good for Big Blue.

Outer Dumb has zero claim on the playoff. Zero. Zilch. Nada. Null. They struggled to beat crappy teams Toledo and Florida State. They beat no one of consequence. They lost at to home Cincy by double-digits. And no extra game against a very good opponent.

The CFP should tell ND, just to stick it in their eye, that the lack of a conference title game makes it impossible to get in with such a weak schedule.

We all wish Fitz were taking notes.

I described this Iowa team as incredibly similar to 2015 NU among 10-2 teams (consecutive not close conference losses, 1 home 1 road) when they won the West. Like NU, they lost their 13th game by exactly 39 points.

Yes. That’s where I agree with you. That is precisely a killer instinct.

Pete Carroll (or sometimes Norm Chow?) had it for the entire (tainted) USC run. Land a blow? Go for the throat!

Plunking a shameful three pointer at the end of regulation in a quiet, two score victory over the worst team in the conference is still not demonstration of a killer instinct. I stand by my claim.

Michigan’s DC has an interesting background. Never run a defense before, but came on the recommendation of John Harbaugh. He had been a GA/Defensive assistant at UGA before moving up the ranks on the defense at Baltimore over several years. Didn’t play college football, but assisted at an Athens, GA, high school while still in college.

He’s pretty young, but older than Fitz was when he took over.

There was also something Harbaugh did on Michigan’s last possession which I wish Fitz would do,and that was when had his young QB in he did not just have him turn around and hand the ball off.He had him throw 3 times in a row and the last one was a shot at the end zone that resulted in a PI call, and then had his OL pound it in.Style points to make sure they got into the CFP?No don’t think so.Would not mind Fitz being a little more like that.

There was a sideline shot where you could read Harbaugh’s lips as he told someone via the headset that he thought Michigan had a shot at the #1 seed….the inference being they needed a larger margin of victory.

It would have been unlikely that he had any meaningful understanding of the nature of the SEC Championship other than, maybe, the score.
