Second to Brohm.

And you would need another crazy buyout clause because he would bolt in a heartbeat for a higher profile job.

Well he had good connections to Florida recruiting, but I still hate the guy from 2006. Pass

It'd be stupid hire someone with baggage like Schiano
I don’t give a **** about Shiano.

I ask, when did the media QUIT laughing at us? They’ve been laughing for over two years now.

We have a coach in a fifteen second sex party on a table.

We hire a coach who fell off a MC with a young thing holding “handled” bar.

We buy a BB player. Or two.

We hire an AD who was selling cars or timeshares or something a year ago.

And you’re worried about Schiano getting us laughed at?

Beam me up.

I'd go for Neal Brown before Schiano. I know that the evidence against Schiano was basically nothing in the whole Penn St scandal but if we were to come here the media would make it the worst thing in the world. We really do not need the headlines right now.

I’m not sure someone whose resume is mainly a product of success in the first decade of the millennium is gonna over well (again).

The fact that people would consider neal brown is baffling to me - I mean, based on what should he be a candidate? That he has had moderate success in the Sun Belt doesn’t move the needle - UofL needs someone with positive experience in P5 football. brown’s in conference record as an OC at TTech and uk is 11-31 - which is pitiful to the point of being stupian.

Additionally he ran his mouth about UofL while with the yuts which should be an immediate disqualifier. The only thing working in his favor is his salary at 800K and if Tyra is looking to cut a couple a million from the next HC’s salary - we’re more screwed than we think.

He would not be my first choice but I think he'd be a candidate. Outside of Brohm there are not a lot of P5 coaches that I'd want and we could get. If not Brohm our hire is more than likely going to be a G5 head coach or a coordinator from a P5 school.

You stole my thunder on the availability or desirability of current P5 coaches. Personally, I have my eyes on Luke Fickell at UC if we can't get Brohm. He is a former Urban Meyer ***'t and is doing a good job digging out of the mess Tuberville left at Cincy.

Petrino also had a pretty good year in 2006. 2006 was a long time ago.

There is absolutely no way in the world that the ULAA is going to bring in Greg Schiano. For the simple fact that he's too tainted....too much baggage. Fire Petrino and bring in a guy who's name is connected to the Sandusky scandal. Don't care how much he knew or didn't know....he's tainted by association. Sucks for him but it is what it is....The new administration is not going to bring in anyone with any hint of scandal.

Forgot all about that! Why is Josh Heupel at UCF never brought up?

Not enough experience I would guess. I think most people in "the know" are so confident about Brohm that nobody is seriously talking about any other coaching candidates.

I have a short list of guys that I would consider if they weren't going to get Brohm because I think at this point you have to fire Petrino regardless if you get Brohm or not even though I'm about 95% sure he's going to be the next HC.

Isn't Heupel winning with Frost's players?
Yea, probably. But he is a young and upcoming coach. IDK, just a thought. Im not saying I want him but we should discuss other candidates than Brohm....not like we are doing the hiring anyways.

Heupel is an offensive coach and what you are seeing is a good offense. The difference between this year and last year’s UCF team is defense. They gave up quite a few points to Temple.

Heupel was runnerup to the Heisman and therefore relevant to young players. However, I see him as a guy with ties to the west and Midwest although he’s at UCF now. I think he would only use U of L as a stepping stone.
