Bring him home.
When Greg accomplishes what Ash has at OSU than we will talk. Until then he was a 500 in conference head coach from 2006 on.
In a much easier conference
Lot’s of my ex’s still look good, but there’s a reason we’ve all moved on.
Difference is you guys rewrite history. He was like third best recruiter in that conference. That puts him at 11 or 12 in this one. Also, in other conference we had equal facilities to our peersDifference is he could recruit in an inferior conference and sell a program. Ash doesn't have anyone excited in the program.
Think Greg is excellent in many areas but result not much different if hes coaching this group
The same can be said of the always Schiano fan bois as well. He couldn’t win in an average conference. What was his record against WVU. That’s all that needs to be said here. You never-Schiano types really have a screw loose
I get it if you are saying "support the guy we have", otherwise you are really insane if you cannot see how he could be the answer here
What evidence have you seen that RU would spend that kind of money on a football coach?I think we are going to have to live with Ash no matter how he performs, until at least 2021, when we have the money to pay for a proven coach.
When you're in a position like Rutgers is, I think you have overpay for a proven coach.. to entice him to risk coming here. We won't have the money ($4M?) to do that for at least three more years. So...

I don't know, there are so many to choose from today.Stupidest thread in 2018
He made significant contributions to the development of our program. He also lost games we should have won.Greg had 12 years and didn’t win ****. No thanks
He won more than all of the previous post-Frank Burns coaches. He also changed the culture of RU football. Fans expected winning seasons and bowl game appearances during his tenure. That's the climate he created.Greg had 12 years and didn’t win ****. No thanks

Schiano could occasionally recruit a great player and was able to get a lot of guys into the NFL. But we're not a farm team for the NFL. And in the end he never won anything of any notoriety except a string of third and fourth rate bowl games.
I think this is unfair to Schiano. He didn't recruit the occasional great player; he recruited a lot of great players. And when it came to defensive backs, we were the closest thing to the Patriots' farm team as their was a relationship between any set of college and pro teams.
I specifically remember Wanstedt (sp?) annually taking Greg to the recruiting woodshed.Difference is you guys rewrite history. He was like third best recruiter in that conference. That puts him at 11 or 12 in this one. Also, in other conference we had equal facilities to our peers
Great, we helped an NFL team with boatloads of money win Superbowls and in return we got wins at bowls that no longer even exist or whose name nobody can remember.
There is state called Florida with a school named Miami in a country known as USA. Look em up.Yes, he's mediocre as a major college head coach. That doesn't mean what you said was correct. He sent a ton of players to the NFL and was the closest thing to a pipeline for NFL defensive backs as there was in college football.

Wanting to make it so isn’t enough.Give it a break. He took the worst team in D1, created a winning program and excited a pro sports state for some years. He made people proud to wear Rutgers gear and we were no longer a laughing stock. You know damn well he would recruit well in the Big 10. You also know that our program was on a significant upward trajectory in 2011 and 2012 recruiting wise as we were killing the Northeast teams for recruits we normally lost out to. In the B1G, Greg would do very well.
