I’ve been right a hell of a lot more than I’ve been wrong and have admitte I was so about Ash. Criticizing a coach for a first half in which we couldn’t do anything, on either side of the ball, is fair game. Bottom line and that goes for any and every coach at most levels. That’s what they get paid for my friend.

This is nothing like NH. It was a cold wet windy day. This was a day to run the ball, stay close and win in the 4Q. PSU had the same game plan. They were simply better.

I think he was referring to this past Saturday against PSU as being cold, wet, windy. I read it your way the first time thru and it didn't make sense. Chip Kelly was the offensive coordinator at UNH that year. Santos spread it out, we couldn't pressure him because he got rid of the ball so quickly. I looked back, we had the lead at the half but got beat 21-0 in the 2nd half. That stung a week after beating Mich State.

Nuts is a good guy and lifelong RU fanatic. Those of us whose fathers went to RU were fans from a young age.

True, if Nuts is an old man, then some folks, in the RU message-board universe, are truly ancient.

In Nuts defense, I don't really think it's necessarily entirely "wrong" for people to state strong support for new coaches or players in their early years. Nobody knows how any coach is going to work out for sure, so why not be positive and supportive for a while?

Sure, we could all qualify everything we say. But then the most frequently written words here would be words like: "possibly", "likely", "seems", "almost", "mostly", and even the dreaded "maybe" that we all love to hate. And without all the aggressively stated absolutes, the forum would be largely unexciting.

I confess that I use qualifiers most of the time. Because I typically distrust certainty and absolutes. But I live an almost entirely unexciting existence. Purely routine (order the hookers and blow, use the hookers and blow, rinse, repeat). So I rely on all of you out there to supply all those out-on-a-limb, highly exciting, absolute declarations and proclamations of future certainty.

And so, my long-winded point here is this: let Nuts be Nuts.

This makes no sense...ALL of our games have been against B1G teams, and ALL of those B1G teams were light years ahead of us for the past 2 years. There is no such thing as garbage time.
BTW- what were considered garbage time stats? Comeback against OUS where they put in the backups for a single drive or two. And every one of their backups are rated higher then our starters. Every other game was close, so, what garbage time?
And even if this seems to be PSU's worst year in some time, they are still light years ahead of us in talent. Every single position.

Nowhere did I “attack” anyone in this thread, let alone Greg, so who is lying now? If anything you have been attacking me. I believe that, in and of itself, is against board regulations as you have keep telling us
