I can tell you right now they aren't going to hire 87,000 new agents because they won't be able to find 87,000 people willing to take the job. Given the competition for business/accounting majors in the private sector they certainly aren't going to find them in the pool of college grads. It ain't happening.

Ok, so, in the interest of neutrality, the Armed IRS thing isn’t new. They’re hiring additional IRS CID types which is a section of the IRS that’s been around for over a 100 years.

More paid days off than a teacher & a nice retirement. Never ever get audited is a little perk .

They will find them. Plenty of federal workers who will gladly take the transfer and pay raise.
