Anyone have any good stories about their experience.

This was a tradition started by Sue Paterno and a friend who tossed removable orange paint on the Lion to fire up the student body.

This was an activity usually reserved for homecoming and Syracuse games. I participated in many guardings from my freshman year until I graduated.

My dorm was an athletic dorm. We received word that Pitters planned an attack. The Pollock dorms mobilized and were waiting. Guys had giant slingshots made of surgical tubing and old ball glove pouches. Others had some hunting slingshots armed with small rubber balls, some had bags and cups of blue and white paint.

Several nearby buildings were used as fire platforms. The Pitters approached around 2:20 am. They were immediately pelted with water balloons and tennis balls from the big slingshots, and rubber balls from the hunting ones.

In a memorable moment, one Pitter screamed, grabbed himself between the legs and collapsed. Never knew what hit him, tennis or small rubber ball. He was helped off by his comrades who were pelted with the paint. It was the greatest guarding I participated in.

Should have launched piss balloons. Maybe those were and still are reserved for tOSU.

Has no one else ever participated? There was a Syracuse attack where some of us were painted, but the Lion survived.
