I wish Greg would hire me for it. I'd come cheaper but I run my defense, not his and he doesn't get any say on me choosing who, what, when to run

^^^^^is what any competent DC would think and say, therein lies the problem with the anticipated response

Wish you were right but this is not a do or die season for The Grifter and he knows it. Not one ounce of humility or accountability. “Keep Choppin” is pathetic mantra that died almost 20 years ago. The AD’s hands are tied.

And just as worrisome, she’s saying we have a revenue problem, not a costs problem. They are one in the same and she’s spinning bc she knows Grifter football is a spending black hole she is powerless to fix.
you catch a lot of flak but you are correct here for the most part
Greg isn't as secure as the board is being led to believe.

Not week 1 I hope
That would be epic. Could you imagine what this board would be like?

Greg is gone without a bowl next year IMO. Granted I'm not paying it, but I don't see the buyout as being prohibitive at that point. New prez/AD is not a combo that leads to a lot of coaching job security unless you're killing it, and Greg ain't at the moment.

Now on the one hand, sure, that's not a great situation for a potential DC from the outside looking in. The flip side: if you do well (and as pointed out elsewhere in this thread, "well" is a low bar given where the defense is at the moment), you've got a pretty good shot at one of: 1) saving GS's, and by extension your, job; 2) being retained by the next HC, or 3) possibly even being that next HC. Of course, GS won't sell it that way, but could help make the job more appealing to the right candidate.

Think they should offer Corey Hetherman 10 billion dollars for the DC/HC in waiting job. It would be worth it.

I don't think he can be hired for 3 years.

I assume this is year two..
He has a show cause, making any program that hires him justify the hire and show a reason they shouldn't inherit the penalties that he carries with him. But he can be hired.
I don't think Rutgers would even consider him, but feel the ruling posted might just be a first move in trying to get the NCAA to rescind the show cause they placed on him

Total shot in the dark here, besides Greg himself as next DC. .

Position coaches in Super Bowl.
Chris Partridge-current outside linebackers coach of Seahawks. Jersey guy. Got dinged in Michigan investigation, but later cleared. Not a fan favorite

Kirk Olivadotti-Seahawks-born in Delaware, spent most of his career with Redskins.

Scott Booker-New England Safeties coach- Was DC at Western Kentucky and last coached in college at Nebraska.

Justin Hamilton - CB coach for New England. Was DC at Va Tech 2020-21

Isn't Partridge persona non grata with a lot NJ HS coaches?

It's going to be some young no name guy with no DC experience. Greg will champion him as some kind of wunderkind. Let's face it, we're at the point where he's scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Two straight years now he's crapped out. Something isn't working and he needs to look in the mirror as this is unacceptable.
