Unless JQ is magically playing why would anyone have UK favored in anything vs a P4 team?

Don’t know what the line is, but the line doesn’t usually account for having the weight of the world on your shoulders. Still going to go back to the shooting splits between bad teams and good teams. If we could solve the anxiety issues, there’s a good shooting team in there somewhere. In memory of a friend who did not stay with us when the new site switched over, I’ll not jinx our own team a la “the nail at the foul line.” I’m picking the Loosiers to win by 3 no matter what the spread is.

Indiana is a level below UNC and we had them the entire game only to lose by 3. Same situation tomorrow but lessor opponent, it should be a Cats win 9 times out of 10 even with as bad as we’ve been. Indiana isn’t MSU or Gonzaga, not even close.
Indiana is not a level below UNC. The IU I watched play Louisville would beat UNC 8 out of 10 times and they will beat Kentucky if we do not contain their 3 point shooters.

They got the doors blown off by Louisville just like we did, down huge the entire game and at the end cut it just below 10. And lost to 5-5 Minnesota. The same Minnesota Purdue beat by 28.

IU fan here.

This IU team is undersized, not especially athletic, and has little offense going to the rim or defensive rim protection. They live and die from three, and depend on excellent ball movement and execution to get looks.
  • When they get those things, they have a bunch of good shooters and two really good shooters (Wilkerson and Tucker D) and can blow out mid or worse-level Power 5 teams like Marquette, KState, Baylor in an exhibition, and Penn State.
  • When they don't execute and move the ball? The weaknesses get exposed, they look slow and untalenetd, and a crap team like Minnesota can beat them going away.
This IU team is way, way more enjoyable than Woodson or Archie era teams because they consistently play hard, have really good body language and seem to like their teammates, and have a modern offense. And Enright is one of the chippiest undersized players in the country; draws frustration offensive fouls all the time - he will almost be guaranteed to piss you guys off in the game thread.

Hope both schools eventually right the ship - it's been too long since they were both national powers.

Sorry, good post and good insight. But I can't get over the name "KatScratch" as an IU fan.

We have not come close to covering against a single power 4 program yet. I guess UL was the closest. Louisville opened at -3.5 to -4.5 i think and we lost by 8.

We opened -4.5 to -5.5 against Michigan State and lost by 17

Opened -8.5 to UNC and lost by 3

Opened +5.5 to Gonzaga and lost by 35

I’d bet against us to cover against power 4 competition until we actually show signs of life.

I'm really just hoping for a hard fought effort, hopefully a win. I have friends I worked in the mines with from Indiana. I made the mistake of giving my friend the phone, when we were playing Indiana one year, to talk with my mom. She was a fierce Ky fan, and they got into over the phone 🤣.
The rivalry is real, I'm glad we weren't there, I would have hated to had to watch my mom kick a Hoosier's A..SS 😂
